I didn't want to keep hacking into computers, I know it is wrong but I just wanted to find out more. The IT Guy .. I think his name is John keeps getting me to hack in computers and send it to this courtier person. It is wrong, I know it is but if I am honest John scares me so I do it. The thing is after the first hack I watched something about this guy called Desmond Miles. He was found by Abstergo which, I have found by my hacking, is a huge Industry and related to an Organisation called Templars, whatever they are. But this man Desmond Miles was found dead in the 'Sanctuary', according to the report his arm looked like it had been grilled. But the thing that has made me continue my hacking is that this Desmond guy was an 'Assassin' and was known as Subject 17. I'm researching Edward Kenway from Sample 17 and if I am right the sample came from Desmond. But why? Why would a Entertainment Company steal someone's DNA to research their ancestors. If I am totally honest I had not realised that when I research Edward Kenway that I am actually reliving someone's life. In previous jobs I have done memory research but that was more like I was observing the person not actually reliving the person's life through their eyes.
The deeper I hacked the more I found out, about the Templars and Assassins. About other people related to Sample 17. Like Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad, Ezio Auditore da Firenze, Connor Kenway. Wait, no Connor didn't take his family name. But they were all Assassins fighting the Templars who seem to want to have control over the world. But if the Templars are linked to Abstergo then does that mean I am working for the Templars? I was told I was researching Edward Kenway for the... the whatever they are making I don't really understand it. But what if there is a deeper purpose to my research. Are Abst- the Templars looking for something else? I can't even guess what but I have a feeling that it will not be good. I don't understand how I have got myself into this situation, I just needed a job but now I seem to be involved in some sort of war which has been going on for years.
I never wanted to hack in to the computers, it is wrong. But now I feel like I have too. Maybe by giving the information I get from Abstergo to the courtier, who I am assume is an Assassin, it will stop them. What Abstergo is doing is wrong. They stole DNA from Desmond Miles, who in their right mind would do that? I want to ran away from this and pretend it never happened but by getting involved and finding out what I have, it is going to make me a target for perhaps both the Assassins and Templars. I wish I had never listened to John, I want the not knowing back. I want that protection of not knowing. If I leave Abstergo they might try to find me as Melanie has constantly praised my telling me that I am the best employee. Then the Assassins might do the same thing. I have got myself into something I never wanted. I should never of hacked into computers. How the hell am I going to get myself out of this?
