Relearning Life

Sam watched Dean eat. The chewing was so loud and annoying. He wanted to tell him to stop, but good brothers don't do that. At least, that's what Dean said.

After dinner, they worked a poker game. Sam didn't understand why Dean needed to be there. He could read all the tells; Dean was rusty. Sam traced the edge of the card and held his tongue. Good brothers don't tell their brother to leave.

Dean snored in the bed. Sam watched, wide awake. He wondered what he'd learn tomorrow about what good brothers do. He wondered if any of it helped.
