So...yeah.

If you were on my alert list and received this message, I posted about my hiatus and update schedule on my bio. Otherwise, here's a little drabble about Naoto when she was first dropped in the TV world. I did it for an application on a game on livejournal awhile back, and really liked it.

Persona 4, and all characters or locations mentioned, are the property of Atlus.

Naoto rolled over, forcing herself awake. Whatever room she was in was incredibly bright, and the ground she was sleeping on was uncomfortable. She sat up, gathering her bearings. It looked as if she were on some sort of...TV set? There were cameras strewn about, backdrops placed throughout the room, and a rather unambiguous pile of televisions in the center of the stage. However, something seemed off. Despite the appearance of what looked to be normal filming equipment, the room could have easily passed for an abstract painting.

How had she gotten here?

It didn't take long for her to remember. The police had been about to close the case, after arresting the copycat killer. In an effort to prove to them the case wasn't closed, that the killer was still on the loose, she had gone on a local news program and used herself as a decoy. The last thing she remembered was opening the door, and someone had grabbed her from behind, and covered her mouth in a white cloth.

Chloroform.

"Lovely," she sounded exasperated.

Her decoy plan had worked, although she hadn't been able to overpower the killer. Hopefully, there was someone investigating her disappearance now, and that would lead them to whomever the true culprit was. However, that also meant that she was stuck here, at least until she could find a way out.

That meant her first objective was finding out what exactly this place was. While it was certainly vibrant, there wasn't enough around her to draw a concrete conclusion. Although, the group of high school students had said something about a world inside of a television. But, surely, such an idea was idiotic! How stupid did they think she was that she would earnestly believe a story like that!

And yet, looking at this place, she couldn't discount that possibility. Certainly, it would explain the filming equipment. Likely, it was also the cause of the vibrant feeling of the room.

She, however, couldn't confirm this until she went deeper. Looking around the convoluted room, there were several sign posts. "Strip Club," "Sauna," it seemed to be an interesting combination of places. Still, there was one sign post that held her attention the most. Off to the left, as if it were built later than all the rest, was a sign with the heading "Secret laboratory."

Although she was hesitant to admit it, she had been fascinated with such stories as a child. When she had the time, and nobody was around, she'd still curl up with one of those books today.

This seemed like the best place to start finding information.

She took a last glance at the room she had come from. There were no visible exits, and staying much longer was likely to do her more harm than good.

Naoto turned, and followed the path into the shadows.
