Prologue
I leaned on the counter behind me. The bar stool creaked with the shift of my weight and I sighed. It was done. That stupid report, the one I'd put off for months, was done! It was at least midnight, and I was dead tired now. Droopy eyed with fresh dark circles under my eyes. I quickly saved my masterpiece and shut it down, staring at my computer background. Bedtime.
The background was from the My Little Pony official poster. My cousins were excited about having someone to share their love of My Little Pony with, while the rest of my family wasn't incredibly thrilled. Hey, if they preferred me playing Team Fortress 2 and Assassin's Creed over watching a cute show about ponies made by my childhood hero, that was their problem.
I shut the screen and rested my head on the cool laptop. I had a talent for writing, ever since I was little. I always wrote fun little stories, things that I thought were cute, about magical adventures that I would go on. Alone. I didn't have friends as a child, I was just sitting in the corner, writing and watching. Come to think of it, Friendship is Magic might have helped me a bit.
My family loved my writing, though. Because I lacked the element of friendship in my life, I spent my time perfecting my grammar and spelling. Plotting. My creativity skyrocketed above my grades. No friends, no problem. I was perfect – quiet and studious.
When I reached third grade I made an effort to make friends. It was a hard transition, but soon everybody became a target. I was like a caterpillar becoming a butterfly, a personal metamorphosis. And my writing only improved, taking ideas from my friends and other experiences.
I'd decided long before that if I was a pony, my cutie park would have to be something writing related. A pen, some paper even. I was great at karate, working there part-time after nine years of lessons, but I loved writing too much. I had considered opening up a word document on the computer and typing something, but sleep came and draped over me like a warm blanket before I had the chance.
Hi! This is the prologue to my new story, obviously. I just love to jump on the bandwagon! Heh. The other chapters will be much longer, and your opinion on my writing could be different. It was nice that my peers liked my writing, so I had figured that would be my cutie mark.
I don't own My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Team Fortress 2 (I really need to quit playing that. Shoosh.), or Assassin's Creed.
