A/N: After I watched Trail Of Blood I got the idea of writing this because, well, we all know that there is some Teslen missing at the end *nods* However, I can't believe I'm only uploading this now like 2 weeks later O_o. Carry me?
He heard gentle knocks on the door to his guest room. Seconds later named door opened and someone entered the room closing the door again.
"Nikola? How are you feeling?" Helen asked when she walked up to his bed.
"Well, I still feel a bit... toasted but with some love and wine from you I'll be fine." Nikola answered cheeky.
Helen smiled and shook her head. Incorrigible.
"I'm glad you're feeling better. You will have to stay in bed for at least another week, though."
"Helen-"
"No, Nikola! One. Week."
He smirked at her and knowing what he would suggest she shook her head smiling slightly.
"Don't push it!"
Nikola was still almost completely covered with the blanket. He felt exhausted. Hanging 9 days in this cave without any water or food...he had though he'd die down there. But somehow he had known that Helen would come to save him. It had been the only thought that had kept him alive.
Helen sat down on one side of the bed and smiled at Nikola.
"Thank you, Nikola. You saved me...us down there."
"About that. Don't I deserve a reward for that? I mean, I risked my life."
"You did." Helen answered and placed a soft kiss on Nikolas cheek.
Still lingering close to his face she whispered something in his ear.
"Oh, please. You didn't think I wouldn't find out, did you?" She asked laughing when she saw his almost shocked face-expression.
"I'll at least one check-up a day on you but if you need anything just call me, ok?"
Nikola couldn't help himself but smirking again. He held his hands out like he did before down in the cave.
"Carry me?"
Helen laughed shaking her head.
"If you want to be carried, then I'll call BigGuy."
Nikola mumbled something about 'killing the moment' before he refused her offer. Helen was about to leave the room when Nikola grabber her wrist gently. She was so surprised that she fell back on the bed- her face only inches away from his.
"Thank you...Helen."
They stayed like this for a while. Seconds, minutes- she couldn't tell.
"Always, Nikola. I mean it."
While Nikola still didn't let go of her wrist Helen didn't even try to move in any way. Without really thinking of what he was doing he lifted his free hand to caress her cheek.
"Nikola..." Helen said not really protesting at all and not moving either.
He lifted himself from the end of the bed and stopped right in front of her face. It was her decision. She could still stop it. When she didn't do anything Nikola closed the gap between them and kissed her gently.
"Your reward for saving me." He whispered smirking.
Helen still didn't move away but smiled softly. I should save him more often then.
"Try to get some sleep, Nikola. I'll come again tomorrow." She finally said squeezing his hand in a reassuring manner.
Nikola dropped the hand he had kept on her cheek and smiled nodding. She made a move to leave again when he suddenly said her name. Turning on her heels she looked at him waiting for something to come.
"Thank you, again."
They smiled at each other before Helen eventually left for the day. Both of them were more than happy to have him back save and sound and they were glad to be together again. More than they'd admit...
