Dean knows Cas is too busy to keep hanging out with them. He visits, sometimes, at first. But the visits become fewer and further between. He doesn't like it, but he accepts it.
Dean would never admit it aloud, but he misses the angel.
The first time he tries it he barely gets the first words out before nearly dies of embarrassment. But slowly, as the loneliness grows stronger, it gets easier.
"Hey Cas," he whispers, "We had a decent day today. Got a tip about a possible werewolf in Colorado…"
As he prays, it's almost like Castiel's there again.
