Chapter 1
It was the day before Hermione's 21st birthday which also meant her and Ron's first anniversary she was sat in her dorm just thinking back on her first year with Ron and even her future, she was constantly in a day dream and everyone made fun of her for always being in her dream world where everything was perfect which was far from real life.
Slowly she got up from her bed and walked towards her wardrobe, she picked out her only clean set of robes and proceeded to put them on. She looked over to her dirty robes and let out a sigh after all she didn't want to work there any more not since Severus made it clear he liked her after the wizardry war. But when he came back to work everyone was shocked after only 2 weeks in hospital but he won't speak of how he survived and he never speaks of you know who's name.
Hermione walked out of her dorm towards the great hall to grab a spot of breakfast before starting her day of teaching. Of course everyone has already sat down she was on her last legs again as usual. Neville was sat scoffing a bacon sandwich with a pumpkin juice by the side of him. Hagrid was sat next to Neville talking to Professor Binns.
"Hey Hermione" a voice called over she looked all round the room suddenly her eyes met the gaze of Severus "Yes you Miss Granger" Hermione thought it was only polite to say hello she noticed a seat next to Neville and walked over to him.
"Neville can you save me that seat next to you please" she asked he simply nodded and took a big bite out of the sandwich he doesn't talk much not after Luna's untimely death. Hermione took a huge gulp and walked over to Severus
"Good morning Hermione come and sit next to me and we can have breakfast together" his black eyes moving all over her.
"Thank you for the offer but I was going to sit with Neville" she paused trying to read Severus emotions, "Anyway" she continued "I have marking to do so I was only going to have a quick breakfast" Snape looked a bit disappointed his black eyes pierced her like an unforgivable curse.
"Well Miss Granger I won't keep you any longer" he purred " I will see you later no doubt" he said with a smirk.
The day dragged on a full day of teaching. She sighed "at least I only have an hour to go before I can be alone" she thought to herself. Finally the hour passed she needed to get back to her dorm, Ron would be visiting soon they were going to go for a drink at the 3 broomsticks. Hermione slipped in to a red dress which clung to her hips and emphasised her figure she put her messy hair in to perfect ringlets and waited.
