The day Korra learnt to water bend had always been a good memory of hers, but the memory that was the most coherent from her childhood was the day she first learnt how to fire bend. She could remember begging her parents to look at the new bending trick she learnt, eager to show them her new skill. Her parents had been shocked, eyes wide at the sight of their three year old daughter playing with a small flame in her palm, grinning up at them.

"Mommy look! I can play with it!" She shouted, laughing as she sent the flame running through the small hut. Senna looked almost pale, her eyes widening more as the followed the orange light dancing around her daughter.

She slowly turned to her husband, "You know what this means, right?" she asked Tonraq softly, making sure Korra was still occupied with her new toy.

"We…we are raising the Avatar." He mumbled, looking as though he was a bit in pain. "As if raising her as a water bender wasn't hard enough." He mumbled, Korra gracefully flinging the fire around herself, almost singing her hair.

"Oops!" She yelled, giggling as her mother looked terrified.

Senna nodded, swallowing as she look over at Tonraq, "As if raising her as she is wasn't hard enough," she corrected, grinning at him before turning back to their daughter. "That's amazing Korra, look how talented you are!"
