IT'S FINALLY GRALU WEEK! I'M SO EXCITED! This is my first time participating. Actually, I've never even heard of GraLu week before a month ago. A few awesome reviewers told me about it, I made a Tumblr to get updates, and here I am!
I was already planning on writing this story for a random one-shot, but I guess it fits the bill for the first prompt for GraLu week.
Disclaimer: I do not own Fairy Tail or Frozen.
I hope you enjoy, review, and check out my other stories!
Lucy adjusted the many grocery bags in her hands as she fumbled with the door handle, trying to enter her house. She managed to open it just enough to kick it the rest of the way. She tripped and stumbled to the kitchen and dropped the bags on the floor.
"Honey, I'm home!" she yelled. She waited a moment, but received no answer. "Gray?" She walked into the living room to see something she didn't quite expect.
Layla, being four-years-old, was laying on her stomach, feet on the air, staring at the TV. Sam, being five, was sitting on Gray's lap, also staring at the screen. Gray, her loving husband, was sitting on the floor, a scowl on his face. He had Ikari, the one-year-old, sitting in her bouncing chair off to the right of him.
"What's going on?" Lucy asked. It was a rare sight to see everyone sitting together so peacefully like that. Even Plue was laying on the couch like a good dog.
"Mommy!" Sam yelled, running over to hug Lucy. "Daddy's yelling at the TV!" Plue barked in approval.
"Well it's pissing me off!" Gray yelled, crossing his arms, fully pouting.
Lucy sighed. She didn't bother correcting the fact that he was swearing in front of the kids. The groceries could wait. The weren't going anywhere. She sat down beside him. "What is it?" She looked up at TV lacrima and saw that the movie Frozen was playing.
"Elsa's acting like she's the best thing since sliced bread!" Gray was clearly upset. "Go you, building a fancy castle! I could do that in my sleep without singing a stupid song! And Olaf? Whatever! Lyon could make a million of them!"
"Will Uncle Lyon make me an Olaf?" Layla asked with hearts in her eyes. Lucy shook her head. Layla shrugged and went back to watching the move.
"She's going on about the cold not bother her," Gray continued, not even noticing the input from his daughter. "She had no idea the kind of training that takes! I froze my ass off forever with Ur! If you wanna talk about something frozen then there you go!"
Lucy laughed and hugged his arm. "Hun, it's just a movie." She saw his lip twitch. "We all know that you're the best Ice Mage. There's no need to get jealous of a cartoon."
"Yeah, Daddy!" Sam said, crawling further into his father's lap. "You're the best!"
Layla crawled over to crawl on Lucy. "Mommy's cool, too! She can make people come outta nowhere!"
"I didn't see Mommy making you a doll made 'o ice when Plue ate yours!"
"Daddy can't cut your hair!"
"Mommy can't make ice cubes!"
"Stop fighting," Lucy laughed. "Daddy is just as good as Mommy, alright? We can both do everything when we work together, right?" Sam and Layla nodded.
"Actually, Mommy is just as good as Daddy," Gray corrected her.
"No, Daddy is just as good as Mommy," Lucy repeated herself.
"You keep saying it backwards," Gray said, a smirk on his face.
Lucy returned that smirk. "Actually, Daddy does something great that Mommy can't do." Sam smiled, seeing that he was right. "Daddy is amazing at sleeping on the couch." She smiled sweetly before skipping off to the kitchen to put the groceries away.
"Look! She made an ice monster!" Layla cheered, her attention already back to the movie.
Gray groaned. He would have to sleep on the couch and watch a stupid movie for the rest of the day.
