A/N: This has been sitting around on my computer since about a week or so after the Series 3 finale and I only just found it out again today. I'm not totally sure of it or anything but I thought I'd share all the same. Reviews and crits are always welcomed.
George stared at the patch of floor absently. That one little patch of floor that had changed everything. The patch of floor where he had said his final goodbye to his best friend.

He couldn't sleep. Every time he closed his eyes all he could see was Mitchell begging him to kill him. Then the moment after Wyndham's speech when he realised that he had to. He would wake up in a cold sweat, heart thudding, ears pounding, wishing that it was all just a horrid nightmare but knowing that it wasn't. In those moments he would feel all the pain again. Eventually the pain would dull, but right now it was so intense he felt as though it would tear him apart.

"Hey." Nina's tiredness softened voice brought George from his reverie. He looked up to see her walking towards him, a faint saddened smile tugging at her lips. She was showing,
"Hey." He replied, his tone lifeless. She put her arms around his shoulders and planted a kiss on his head, knowing better than to bring up the subject he was obviously thinking about. He took her hands in his and kissed them, "I love you." He murmured. She held him tighter and rested her head on his shoulder,
"I love you too." She whispered, knowing that he needed to hear it, "I love you too."
