Chad Dylan Cooper never believed in that phrase.
He just took life as it came to him,
Every second just passing by like that.
He never dreamed big,
Poor kid was too used to heartbreak and misery.
Giving up was one of his qualities.
It was a very bad one at that.
His life was turning into a merry go round,
It only went in one direction.
But suddenly, it stopped.
A beam of light shone upon it,
Engulfing him with a sun brighter that he imagined possible.
No amount of clouds could block her,
She was always there.
Yes, Sonny was always there for him.
Through the good and the bad times,
Her shoulder was always there to lean on.
She never gave up hope on him,
Always thinking he would turn out to be a better person.
But he didn't.
Heck, he treated her like dirt, shooing her away at any given moment.
And now, she was gone.
Just fading away at his finger tips.
You want to know why?
It's because he stopped dreaming.
He gave up. Just like that.
He never believed in that one phrase until now.
"The day you start dying if the day you stop dreaming."
And now, as he sit in his bedroom sobbing,
He said those four words he would die just to tell her.
"I love you, Sonny."
