"Chrom I'm super bored!" Lissa said
"Maybe if you were a little more patient and besides were almost at the town." Chrom said which caused Lissa to pick up and start running.
"Lissa?! Hey get back here!" Chrom said running after his sister Frederick following in tow
"Mister are you okay?!" She said kneeling over to see a man in a torn red coat and he had a tuff of Gray hair going down his face in a ponytail way but the rest of his hair was red and he was sitting in a sit ups position and coughing in his hand.
"Lissa you can't- Oh are you okay sir?" Chrom said panting looking over to see a man looking at him into his eyes sitting down normally blood on his hand that appeared to have a tattoo on it.
"..." No answer
"Sir? Would you like some help?" Chrom asked
"..." No answer again
Out of instinct Chrom walked over and held his hand out for the man which he took after a moments hesitation.
"Tha...nk you" He said
"Whats your name?" Frederick said
"Na..me?" He replied
"Are you broken?" Lissa asked him
"Bro...ken?" He said tilting his head.
"Chrom I think this man has amnesia." Lissa stated
"Amnesia? It's called nothing we expect to see a man in a torn cloak that has piraty features on it and his mind is broken?" Frederick said
"Frederick it's not like we should leave him." Lissa said
"Yes milady but one twould not let a wolf into our flock." Frederick said causing the man to shake a little.
"Can you walk?" Chrom said
"..." No answer but then nodded but then looked towards his left and right
"Something wrong?" Chrom asked
"T-tttt" He replied
"What?" Lissa said
"To..wn" He choked out
"Oh! He's asked where the town is." Chrom said when they realized what he was trying to say.
"That way." Lissa said pointing the man looked over and turned over and begun to walk and they saw some blood dripping from his legs.
"Chrom I'm kinda worried about him." Lissa said into Chrom's ear
"Me too I wonder what was so tranquilizing that his speech is gone, his coat has holes in it big ones and practically no memory." He added pointing at the hole in his elbow sleeve
"Doesn't help sense he also has some blood dripping down his legs and when I found him he was coughing it up too." Lissa said
"He's definitely buttering up milord's presence for if he wants something." Frederick said
"Frederick I under stand your worried but he's suffering …...obviously the man has no sense were he is can't speak in full sentences and the sight of him makes me cringe at what could of happened to him." Chrom replied
"I understand milord but he's wearing a pirate captains coat needless to say he has a cutlass sword." Frederick said
"I see that but we can take care of him if need be but I very much doubt he's lying." Chrom replied looking at him.
"Ry..." He said causing the group to look at him Chrom walked up with his sister and stood in front of him since he stopped walking.
"What?" They said in unison
"Ry...a" He continued to try to sputter out
Chrom and Lissa looked closer at the man
"Rya? Is that your name? Killer?" Frederick behind the man said gaining a evil stare from Chrom
"Rya...n. My … name is …. Ryan." Ryan said
"Ryan? That sounds foreign definitely not a common name" Chrom thought to him self.
"Well Ryan it's a great thing you remembered your name as you may or may not know I'm Lissa and that's Chrom and the knight is Frederick." Lissa said pointing to each person as she said it and Ryan only smiled that could even warm the heart of the stern lieutenant.
"Awww look at that Frederick he's cute!" Lissa exclaimed
"C..ute?" Ryan asked her
"We can explain later because that town is on fire milord!" Frederick said pointing at the town.
"Tro...ble?" Ryan said
"Yes trouble stay here!" Chrom said running and the others followed
"H..ere?" Just then Ryan held his head in pain
Flashback
"Ryan you don't have to do this!" A voice said
"Course I do as a knight I choose to protect others but as a brother I choose to protect your will to live." Ryan said as the flames flickered
"Nice line I can write down on your tombstone when I'm done here." Tyran said prepping falchion
"Tyran for the crimes you committed you will fall to me and now …. we fight!" Ryan said charging in
"Oh I can't wait!" Tyran cackled
End of flashback
"Vi...olence I am …..a knight?" Ryan said removing his heads
"Peop...le are in pain ….. I … must help." Ryan said outloud after a moment now started in their direction
"Gods help us" Chrom said out loud Frederick was fighting alone and him and Lissa was barely holding her own since she can't fight and Chrom was disarmed the Falchion was out of his reach and he couldn't fight back.
"Lissa!" Chrom screamed as she was hit to ground closing her eyes and about to be struck by an axe to her spine.
"Do …. not ..ha..rm her." A voice said causing Chrom to look again and Lissa open her eyes to see the man about to kill her be stabbed in the neck with the cutlass.
"Ryan! Why you here?" Lissa said
"Sa..ving y...ou" Ryan responded
"Chrom needs help Ryan but why save me." She asked
"I... had .. to d..o something." Ryan said
"Lissa can you …..follow …...behind me?" Ryan asked her and she nodded a little bit confused
"So princey ready to die?" A brigand said pinning him down
"No..." A voice said and a stabbing noise was heard but it wasn't Chrom that was injured when Chrom looked up he saw Ryan impaled in the chest.
"..." Chrom was speechless the man who they saved just saved them.
"I …. won't let …. my rescuers die" Ryan said before stabbing him with his sword
"Chrom... are you …. alright?" Ryan asked to reveal a hole in his chest.
"I'm fine but you need help but Lissa is in trouble?" He said as she was actually healing Chrom the whole time.
"Milord! Your safe?" Frederick said as he saw Ryan among the two with the princess with him
"I... saved them." Ryan said
"I... can fight... too I'm …. a soldier." Ryan said
"You don't look like one" Frederick said
"I'm …. sorry." He said bowing his head
"But …. I can fight ….. and guide." Ryan continued
"Guide? How do you mean?" Chrom asked
"I …. I Know tactics.." He said
"Well um" Chrom tried to say but was to astonished that his memory was returning constantly, "Why was a soldier alone without orders?" he wondered
"If your a soldier then why do you have a sword and no shield?" Frederick asked him
"I... don't ...kn...ow." Ryan said
"Then you can-" Chrom was cut off with Ryan pushing him out of the way to reveal a barbarian about to jump Chrom.
"Um... thanks?"Chrom said
"Can …. you guys... follow my … l...ead? Ryan asked them
"Yes captain!" Lissa exclaimed which soon made the others follow.
"C...hrom and .. I can move ...forward ..towards the … snake." Ryan said pointing at the leader
"Frederick ….. can.. flank around... to wipe out … the magic users." Ryan continued looking at the right of the cart a few spaces ahead.
"What can I do?!" Lissa almost yelled which made Ryan step back but the princess quickly apologized for it.
"Sta...y here … in hea..ling range." Ryan said they all nodded but before they all dashed Chrom stopped Ryan for a moment.
"Here It's a rapier I noticed with the cutlass you were focusing on one end like you were using a lance." Chrom unsheathed the sword and handed it to Ryan who looked at it for a moment and nodded and putted away the cutlass he was holding, and Chrom unsheathed the Falchion.
"Than..k you ….Chrom." He said getting into position that you would use for a lance.
"Probably should get him his own sword and lance and shield if he joins the shepherds." Chrom thought to himself, A few moments later the two were at the leader and Frederick was finishing up the last mage.
"Come here sheepies! Come to the-" Before he could finish Chrom looked to see that during his whole talk Ryan had already made it to his stomach.
"Wo...w... that was ….. quick work." Ryan said removing the blade from the mans stomach.
"Okay um wow." Chrom said putting away the falchion.
"Wow Ryan!" Lissa said running over with Frederick in tow but the noise made him step back
"Oh sorry Ryan …. again." Lissa apologized
"Sw..ord?" Ryan said holding out the rapier to Chrom
"Hmm? Oh no keep it think of it as a thank you for rescuing your rescuers." Chrom said Ryan nodded but then pointed towards the scabbard of the rapier itself Chrom noticed this then started to unlatch the scabbard.
"So Ryan do you know what your going to do after this?" Lissa asked
"I... I don't-" Chrom interrupted him by holding out the scabbard which Ryan took and sheathed the sword and tried to strap it to his belt.
"Here let me." Chrom said as he strapped the rapier to his side.
"Speaking of what your going to do how bout you join the shepherds?" Lissa asked him
"Milady! We should heed the counsel." Frederick said
"Peace Frederick he fought for us and we need a tactician but I can't help but wonder but Emm's going to say when the man we recruited can barely speak." Chrom said looking at both Ryan and Frederick.
"Shep...herds?" Ryan asked
"We can explain later but only if you join us." Chrom said
"I …. I need ...a home I … will join... but can I ask something?" Ryan said
"What is it?" Chrom asked him with a smile
"Is this …..what it's …..like to …. kill?" Ryan asked
And that made the groups blood run cold.

During the travel no one said a word after that comment from Ryan because well they dragged someone so sweet into a fight that probably wasn't unavoidable but still it was silent up until Lissa spoke.
"Chrom it's getting dark." Lissa said
"Milady is right I say we camp here for the night." Frederick added
"Ryan will you be okay with that?" Chrom asked him
"I ….wil...l." Ryan said Chrom nodded and pointed a spot for Ryan to sit down Lissa sat with him which made Chrom look at her questioningly.
"I'll keep him company." She simply said Chrom only smiled and him and Frederick left for fire wood and some kind of food.
"So Ryan um how are you adjusting?" Lissa said
"I ….. every thing is … strange." Ryan said
"Okay then well welcome to my life but I wonder what happened to you your so sweet to be here you could have easily been used for something." she continued
"U..sed?" Ryan said
"Um heh it's not a word you can explain." She said
"Will …. t...he others … accept me?" Ryan asked her
"Huh?" Lissa said not understanding
"Are …. th..ey lou..d?" Ryan said ignoring her question
"Oh the shepherds, Um well kinda yeah don't worry though we're more like a family then a milita or whatever you call it." Lissa said rubbing her head then their was silence after that but a few minutes later Ryan spoke up.
"Thi..." Ryan tried to say
"Hmm?"
"Thirty... ff-fi..ve" Ryan finally said
"Oh! You remembered your age." Lissa said almost raising her voice
"Fourth ….pla...toon..." Ryan said with his eyes closed sweating a little bit
"Hmm?" Lissa said her interest piqued.
Lissa's point of view
"Fourth...pla...toon..." Ryan said with his eyes closed sweating a little bit
"I wonder what happened in the Fourth platoon most be important if Ryan is remembering it." I thought to my self. Thoughts aside I kept my eyes on Ryan as he was trying to spit out words.
"Exa...lt... s..creams... fire... It's my … fau..lt" Ryan said and this I raised a eyebrow "Did Emmeryn do something" I thought to my self.
"Ty...an." Ryan said and to this my eyes widened trying comprehend what Ryan is trying to remember. "It wasn't Emmeryn it was dad but how did he do this much damage to Ryan? Wait Lissa don't jump to conclusions yet" I thought to my self.
"Do you remember anything else?" I said and I saw Ryan frantically hold his head eyes still closed. "Sorry I asked" I said
"Hey Guys!" Someone said and I turned my head to see Chrom but then I looked back at Ryan who was still holding his head. "Woah what happened to Ryan?" Chrom asked
"He remembered something I can't say if its important or not." I said as Chrom stacked the fire wood on the ground sat across from them.
"Can you tell me Lissa?" Chrom asked and after a moments hesitation I nodded and begun explaining. Everything Ryan had said.
"Hmm I wonder what nation this Fourth platoon belonged to and I'm glad he remembered his age but I wonder what dad has to do with all this." Chrom said after the explanation was finished.
"Me too Chrom I hope we uncover what happened to Ryan because it might cause him less pain." I said and that Chrom looked at Ryan and nodded.
"Speaking of which wouldn't that make Ryan five years older then Emm?" Chrom asked "Of course it would Chrom." I said rolling my eyes.
"Speaking of which Chrom?" I said after realizing something. "What is it?" Chrom said a little surprised at the change of conversation. "We need to get Ryan's clothes fixed and clothes in general." I said
"Oh yeah we do need those for him and for all we know the coat he's wearing could be a link to his past." Chrom said after realization hit him. "Don't forget the sword he had when we met him." I said "Oh yeah that too." Chrom said
"Where's … Fr...ederi...ck?" Ryan said causing me and Chrom to look at Ryan who's eyes were open and his head was up. "Yeah where is Frederick?" I asked looking at my brother.
"Hunting" Chrom stated
"Th...is...lo...ng?" Ryan said and after a moment realization hit both me and Chrom, It was almost thirty minutes ago Chrom had gotten firewood and Frederick still hadn't rejoined the us far too longer then the wary knight would allow.
"We need to find him." Chrom said getting up "We should split up" I suggested but Ryan objected to it fast "Thats wha...t th..ey wa...nt us …..t...o d..o" Ryan said which caused both me and Chrom to look at him in shock.
"Follow …. th...e...trail." Ryan said pointing towards Fredericks direction Chrom and I was skeptical at first but then I thought "What if the thing keeping Frederick knew where we were but wanted us to split up." Chrom was still hesitant but I nodded and Ryan started towards where Frederick went I followed but Chrom was trailing behind a little bit.
Chrom's point of view
"I will never understand where Ryan gets this idea that the people or things keeping Frederick knew where we were." I thought to my self, "What I want to know is were Ryan's getting this information and how he won over my delicate sister." I kept thinking still running passing through trees and such.
"How is he so fast?" I thought to my self catching my breath after me and Lissa was also trying to catch her breath."
Lissa's point of view ...again
"Ryan's like Frederick somehow we're out of breath and he's not only difference is that Ryan never ate something." I said panting "Chrom look!" I yelled and pointed to see Ryan defending himself from something that dark.
"We gotta help him!" Chrom yelled trying to get out of the Falchion "Hurry!" I said
"I'm trying i'm trying!" Chrom said looking both at the scabbard and at Ryan whom was fending off a axe with his bare hands. But just then Ryan flipped the man over grabbed his axe and slashed him with it and I couldn't believe my eyes the man evaporated with the axe. I run up to Ryan with Chrom who finally managed to get out the Falchion.
"Ryan are you okay!" I said worried Ryan was looking down and just said "Risen w...e mu..st ge...t to Fre..derick …. fast …. bef...ore he is... killed." I didn't understand what Ryan had meant by that and it didn't look like Chrom did either.
"I hea...rd him... over...th..er..e." Ryan said with difficulty while pointing forward between a meadow of trees. Ryan then unsheathed the rapier he got from my brother and darted towards Frederick who I could yelling "Pick a god and pray!"
Frederick's view
"I hope Milord and milady are safe and sound" I thought to my self but I noticed something out of the corner of my eye and went for it which was a bad mistake because I was knocked off my course pinned by a strange monster with its axe raised.
"Not ….. to..day!" I heard Ryan say before crashing into the beast and after the battle every thing was a blur in my eyes first I am bringing back bear meat and next thing I know something shows up in the sky.
Everyone's view
"Thank you stranger" Frederick said
"Whats your name?" Chrom asked the man with a butterfly mask on
"... You may call me Marth and this was just a warning" Marth but to this Ryan walked up to man eyes piercing his (Her).
Lucina's point of view
"What is Ryan doing?" I thought but just then he hugged me.
Everyone's view
"What are you doing?!" Marth yelled
"Yo...u've be...en push..ed aroun...d ...too...of..ten ….cr...y o...ut you...r pai...n Ma...rth." Ryan said tugging at Marth.
"Ugh let go!" Marth yelled and Ryan let go and said a simple "I'm …. sor..ry"
"Now I must be going" Marth said a little bit hesitant after what just happened
"We... mus...t get to The... cap...ital." Ryan choked out as Marth walked away. "Yeah we must" Chrom said "Speaking of which Ryan why did you hugged him?" Chrom continued
"In..stinct.." Ryan replied and tried to walk but ended up collapsing on the ground, Chrom barely catching him.
Lissa's view
As Ryan tried to walk he fell onto the ground, "Poor guy" I said with Chrom trying to help him up but Frederick then took him and put him on his horse Aris.
"I think we should let him rest he's done a lot today." Chrom said and I nodded in confirmation, after thirty minutes had past I finally spoke up.
"Chrom I think Ryan is a lot like Emm." Chrom turned to me for this comment "Why" He says.
"Why? You need a answer Chrom? He's just as gentle or close? I mean he went up and hugged Marth just like that when he gave us that warning and besides for all we know he could be a boy version on Emm." I said bluntly and with a bit of anger.
"I don't think Emmeryn is looking for someone Milady." Frederick said behind them Ryan still waking up on Frederick's horse.
"Oh I know she does I mean everyone does, even if she doesn't show it I think she wants someone for when Chrom has to take over for exalt." I stated
"What makes you think I'm going to be next?" Chrom asked with a brow raised
"I'm too young and immature remember?" I said with my tongue out.
"Right ha but in all seriousness I do think Emm should be looking for someone." I continued
"I'll have to see about that" Chrom said with a smile but just then Frederick bluntly said with Ryan getting off the horse..
"We're here in Ylisstol Milord"

"So was that how Chrom met Dad?" Morgan said
"Yes … yes it was ..Morgan." I said with a smile
"Wow that's awesome!" Morgan said fist pumping the air from her bed under the covers.
"So what happened next?" Morgan asked and to this I just smiled and said "Next? Next my little girl goes to sleep." I said getting up
"Aww mom! But I wanna know!" Morgan said upset " I know Morgan and …. I really hate doing this to you but please get rest I promise to tell you tomorrow." I said
"Pinky promise?" She said holding out a her pinky finger
"Hehe I pinky promise." I said wrapping my finger around hers and kissed her forehead goodnight and turned off the lights and walked out the door to meet my husband hugging me from behind.
"I'm happy you …. kn...ow?" Ryan said with his coat was fixed almost good as new, "Ehehe I'm also happy because I not only get to watch my husband quickly recover but I also know I'm eventually going to have a beautiful happy daughter." I said smiling touching my husbands hand.
"Lets get to sleep my sweetest." Ryan said not letting go of my hand while we walked to the bedroom opened the door got in our pajamas and got in the bed.
"Honey?" Ryan said
"Hmm?" I replied
"I love you and that ha...s to count for so...mething." Ryan said and to this
I kissed my husband and fell asleep.
