Paranormal Harassment

It was a day of inbetween; the time where winter slowly morphed to spring and the days were not too cold and not too hot, the days where the sun shown through thin white clouds and caused the vegetation to pop out of hiding and spread throughout the fertile land.

It was not the beautiful day, however, that peaked Rin, Jaken, and Kohaku's interest. No matter how beautiful the day was or how calming the weather seemed, it was their majestic leader that had them looking on with observant eyes. Jaken was the first one to notice, though it was a typical point-out to Rin and Kohaku since Jaken was always accused of secretly staring at Lord Sesshoumaru with admiration, but once Rin had noticed the green imp's confused stare, she nudged Kohaku and together all three watched with odd curiosity.

Sesshoumaru-sama was acting quite strange…

With every gust of wind from the east, the mighty dog demon's sturdy back would tense slightly, shoulder's hitching slightly for a split second before he returned to his usual stride. When the winds would change direction to the west, there was a ghost of a flinch in Sesshoumaru-sama's being, which was enough to keep the three other travelers from blinking in fear that they might miss something.

At one very surprising moment, a breeze came in from the north, blasting their lord in the face with its mighty gusts while his hair was sent flailing back sporadically as if being ruffled by a pair of hands. In the following seconds the trio heard a low-pitched growl and soon after did Sesshoumaru-sama stop walking all together.

"S…Sesshoumaru-sama?" Jaken called meekly, in fear that one step forward would be an invitation to his inevitable death.

As if just insulted to the highest degree, Sesshoumaru turned his head halfway around revealing just one piercing dark-honey eye, and only one was enough to send Jaken, Rin, and Kohaku gasping. The stare of one deadly eye lingered, and he turned his attention ahead of himself once more to continue his fearless battle with the taunting wind.

And just as everything was starting to resume its usual balance, an exceedingly powerful gust from the south came rushing up behind the group, closing in on its victim from the back.

A hitch of broad shoulders, back arching, body suddenly tense as stone, there stood the mighty InuTaiyoukai Sesshoumaru in all of his pride-shrunken shock.

From the mere show of emotion his lord had just bestowed, Jaken had fainted.

In the distance Kohaku could hear the soft howling of the wind…yet as the howling began to fade, another distinct sound was heard floating throughout the field; even if the trees and tall grass and clouds were in perfect harmony of a delicate tune, Kohaku heard it.

'Laughter…?'

And then realization dawned on the small demon slayer, and he couldn't help the smile that crept upon his freckled youthful face.

'You always said you were the free wind…that you could do anything. Now I know what you meant.'

End

A/N: Even the free wind can cop a feel of our wonderful lord, ne? ;) I hope you enjoyed my story, although I found it to be not my best piece because I was so nervous at how this would turn out. Also, I'm not an expert on endings, so I apologize if the ending was very good.
