I blame you

5.30pm.

Storming in to her flat, Carla throws her bag on the side and grabs a glass from the cupboard. She was fuming.

"How dare he!?" she says angrily.

"Hello to you too" says Nick who is sat on the sofa putting his shoes on.

"Are you ok Carla?" he asks.

"No, No I'm not flaming ok Nick!" she exclaims.

Nick finishes sorting his shoes and saunters over to Carla who has just gulped down a mouthful of wine. "What's up?" he asks.

"Aidan blinking Connor is what's up" she sighs angrily.

Nick puts his arms around her waist and kisses her head. "What's he done?"

"Well, where do I start" she gulps down another mouthful of wine and continues. "It turns out that the bloke you and Michelle so happened to contact to 'help' me out has actually stolen money from his Dad!" she pulls away from Nick and sits herself on the kitchen side.

"The money that he invested, which is now tied up in the factory, is his Dads which also happens to be all the money he had left to pay for his sisters wedding!"

"How do you know all this?" exclaims Nick.

"Well, just after I had signed a brilliant contract for us, in comes Johnny and Kate, Aidan's Dad and sister, demanding him to pay back the money to him!" Carla begins to wander around the kitchen, clearly wound up.

"It comes to light that the money Aidan had in his account to invest was put their by his dad. Aidan took it upon himself to distribute that money wherever he liked and it just so happened you and Michelle contacted him at a very convenient time!"

"And now, Johnny wants his money back. His ex girlfriend cleaned him out so he's left with nothing and his precious daughter Kate is getting married and he's paying for it!"

Nick watches Carla as she stomps around the flat. Gulping more wine and slamming cupboard doors.

"So will he not accept payment back over the course of a year, like every month?" Nick asks.

"No, Nick. Are you not listening to me? He's going no where without his money. So tomorrow morning he's coming back to the factory to start helping! In his words, he will not be a silent partner, he's going to be very much a loud partner so to speak" Carla is becoming more irate.

"This is all such a mess. Just as soon as I'm getting my feet back on the ground and getting the business and myself sorted, something like this happens!" she slams her glass on the kitchen side.

"I've got to work with someone I barely know and he barley knows anything about MY business. Now he wants to stick his beak in and change it! I've a right to be angry!"

Nick wanders over to her. "I'm just popping over to the bistro to see how Leanne and Steph are getting on with Sally's reception. Why don't you come along, show your face"

"I couldn't think of anywhere worse to be Nick" she turns her back to him and opens the fridge.

"If you and Michelle hadn't stuck your noses in my business none of this would be happening right now! So go on, go by yourself and get lost" she shouts.

Nick stands right behind Carla and in her ear he whispers "if Michelle and I hadn't have helped you, you probably, no, more than likely, would have nothing left. No home, no business, no friends. All you were doing is pushing everyone away. So I'm sorry we 'helped' you Carla" Nick turns away.

"Oh go on Nick, get out" she shouts. "I'm not in the mood for your pity and your saviour boyfriend act"

As Nick opens the door to leave, he turns round and smiles "Carla Connor, ever the stubborn woman. Get over yourself"

With that, he shuts the door and makes his way over the road.

In the flat, Carla flops on the sofa and lets out a huge sigh…. "I am not stubborn"…..
