I appear! To write another story... Again with an odd perspective, they're just so fun and challenging... Thanks to NekoiKurona, who gave me inspiration! :D Now, let's start~! By the way, I do not own One Piece, yada yada, let's actually start this time!
It was a rainy day, so moist that even I could feel the dampness trying to soak through my paper pages. The faucet dripped into the sink, creating a rhythmic sound only I could appreciate, as I was the only one in the room. Usually on rainy days such as these, my owner, Robin would sit and flip my pages, absorbing the words etched on them. But today, she was elsewhere. Perhaps in the women's cabin?
Suddenly, the door to the kitchen opened, startling me and creating a draft as a gale of wind blew through. My protective leather spine shivered.
"So bored~!" came an obnoxiously loud voice. I recognized it as Luffy, my owner's captain. Since my owner felt respect for him, I reluctantly respected him as well, but his loudness irritated me. Such crudeness could not compare to owner, whose fingers stroked me lightly when turning a page. I doubted such a fool could muster such delicateness, or read, for that matter.
He sat beside where I lay (lie? I can never tell), simply sitting quietly. I was astounded at the fact he could be peaceful as such. I had always thought him as a monkey, quite fittingly for his name. I looked at his face (don't ask me how a book can look, just go with it), noticing a small trace of sadness. I stared. Since when was he capable of such a wistful and deep expression? I thought back to the lonely two years I spent in owner's room, mystified as to why I had been left. Perhaps during those years, there had been a meaning? An event that I, as a book, could not have witnessed? Yet, despite the possibility of this, he still acted so happy...
… All along, had I misjudged his character? While I contemplated my new findings, the boy with the straw hat gently opened my cover to the first page of my story. Ever so slowly, his eyes looked through the letters that created words that formed phrases and speech, and eventually turned the page, then another, and yet another. I watched him as he did this, holding his figure in awe that I had never felt before. This boy, he was special. Kind. Sincere. I could finally understand why the rest of the crew held him with such high regard. As he closed my covers together with a pleasing sound, I found an X on his chest. Something that had not been there before. How...?
With a loud thud, the door opened once again. Nami, Sanji, Chopper, Franky, Brook, Usopp, Zoro, and Robin, my owner, entered, each with their own level of loudness.
"Luffy!" They all called in unison, smiling at the boy.
"MINNA!" Luffy shouted, equally loud, standing before rushing to them. As they crew broke out into chatter, Luffy glanced my way before picking me up and handing me to Robin.
"Here's your book, Robin. It's really good, isn't it?"
"EH?" The crew gasped, all but Robin that is, "YOU READ A BOOK?"
Robin chuckled. "It really is, senchou."
Leaving the rest of the crew in wonder, ("He could read..." "He was that bored...?" "Luffy is full of surprises...") the book listened as Robin and Luffy spoke about the plot that made up his pages, genuinely content. Perhaps one day he would understand the mystery of the captain, but he had a long time to learn.

Man, I intended to make this a purely funny fanfic... Yet it became sort of angsty... IT HAS A MIND OF ITS OWN! XD Either way, it turned out pretty good, didn't it? (hopeful glance) Please review and rate and all that~ PS: For those who have below basic understanding of Japanese even with reading and/or watching One Piece, "minna" means everyone and "senchou" means captain. さよなら〜
