Dark clouds cover the sky and rain starts to pour down, rain drops running along the lines of the names carved into the stones.

And there were others who had died in the series of crimes. Sure, they all got killed by a person. But in the end everything connects to the Sybil System.

Akane watches as the rain drops connect with the grave stone at her feet. After everything that had occurred she felt emotionally and physically exhausted. So many people had died. So many people had fallen victim to the Sybil System. Again.

Hilarious. A system that decides wether you live or not, regardless of the circumstances. The Sybil System was twisted and wrong. The graves in front of her were proof that the System has failed.

Akane hates it. She hates that she has to rely on it and do as it says, but she knows that without it, Japan would be ruined. The Sybil System is the only thing that is keeping society stable, while the rest of the world is at war, engulfed by chaos. So Akane tries her best to fight and at the same time stay clear.

Easier said that done. In her line of work it's never easy to stay sane, working with latent criminals to catch other latent criminals. And whenever she is stuck on a difficult case she lights a cigarette and tries thinking about what he would do. It has always calmed her down, letting her mind drift to him, but at the same time bad memories come up and she remembers all the losses she had suffered. She could never forget them. Never.

Akane is always busy with work but she tries to visit their graves when she has some free time. And when it rains she can't help but let go and let the tears leak out.

She stands there, her clothes soaking wet and her bangs covering her eyes. She lets her emotions flow, her form shaking because of the cold. For once she lets herself get loose and falls into sorrow.

Akane doesn't register the arms wrapped around her shoulders and the face pressed against her head. The only thing she can feel is a warm sensation. She feels herself being lifted and she doesn't want to get out of the comfortable position she is in. Snuggling into the warmth of the body, she falls into unconsciousness.

The next morning Akane wakes up, she is surprised to feel very well rested. She gets out of bed to do her normal routine, preparing herself for another day of catching latent criminals and surprising events.
