A/N: I don't like this as much as I liked Kiss and Tell, but I figured I'd post it anyway and die of embarrassment later. Technically a sequel to Kiss and Tell, but it can stand alone. Set after BTCrush. Happy reading! :)
We Won't Kiss and Tell
"See, that wasn't so hard, was it?" Kendall asked, smirking.
James flopped onto his bed dramatically. "Just leave me here to die," he moaned, although the blankets muffled his voice and ruined the effect somewhat.
"Oh, come on, it couldn't have been that bad," Kendall responded dismissively. He returned to his magazine.
"I had to apologize," James whispered, sounding as if he had to choke the words out. "To a girl. Who had no right to dump me!"
Kendall sighed and putt he magazine down, opting to rub the bridge of his nose instead. "James, must I repeat, you blew her off to stalk my sister because you underestimated her mental prowess!"
"That," James said, "is a lot of big words."
"You didn't pass the puck because you thought the rest of the team were a bunch of idiots," Kendall simplified. "And it cost us the goal. And the match."
"Oh," James said.
"Yeah," Kendall said. "As you can see, the team has every right to hate you."
"But I thought the team was Katie," James asked, lifting his head for a brief moment to shoot a puzzled look at Kendall. "And she's not mad at me." He plopped his face back into the bedspread.
Kendall glared at James, silently cursing him for choosing now to act all logical. "Look, James, the point is, you messed up, and you've got to learn to own up."
James sighed loudly. "Whatever," he mumbled, signalling the topic was closed. Not wanting to argue any more, Kendall let the subject drop.
"You know," Kendall mused after a few minutes, "we still have a few extra tickets to Kiss and Tell, don't we?"
James slowly sat up.
"And it would be a shame to let that money go to waste."
James stared at Kendall, trying to figure out where he was going with this.
"And we never got to see the end."
"But we'll be alone!" James cried before faceplanting into the bed again. As an afterthought, he pulled out his mirror and angled it to reflect the back of his head. "James thinks going to Kiss and Tell is a dumb idea. I agree."
"How do you do that?" Kendall asked incredulously. Then he sighed and stood up. "Oh, for crying out loud," he muttered. He grabbed James' ear and bodily dragged him out of the room and into his car, ignoring the brunette's cries of pain.
"Why are we even here?" James whispered heatedly to Kendall once they had been seated with their overly large concessions.
"Because you're an idiot," Kendall whispered back, his voice just as heated. "Now shut up, I haven't seen this part."
James let out a shriek that caused several of the moviegoers to shush him angrily. "Manly noise of indignation!" he whispered before Kendall could say anything. "How am I an idiot?"
Kendall sighed. Luckily, the onscreen characters were kissing yet again, creating the perfect atmosphere. "Because of this," Kendall told James, and reached out to pull his best friend into a heated and passionate kiss.
"Oh," James murmured dazedly once Kendall had pulled away.
"Now you get it," Kendall said sarcastically. "Finally!" He dropped his bag of popcorn into the lap of the person in front of him and grasped James by the collar. "Enjoy!" he told the confused viewer sitting in front of him before tugging and James' collar and yanking him out of the theater.
"But you didn't even get to see the end," James said, still a little dazed.
Kendall smirked. "Don't worry," he told the awestruck boy stumbling along behind him. "I think we'll be able to recreate the end without any problem."
