The Relativity of Crime

Disclaimer – All characters are the property of Thames TV; I have made no profit from their use.

A/N – A perfect 100 word drabble, set around chapter 30 of Heaven From Here, but no knowledge of that fic needed. Meadows looks after Mickey.

Dedicated to Becca, Megan, Kitty, NorthStar and the others who have given me so much support with Heaven. Thank you.

When Meadows was young, idealistic, he knew murder was the worst crime.

Now he knows that he's wrong. Rape leaves the dead person alive to deal with what happened. Mickey curls against him, lost in nightmares, tugging at his shirt.

Meadows once knew that drugging people is wrong. This is the third time he's slipped tranquilisers into Mickey's dinner, and he feels no regret. They crave sleep. He cannot resist committing that crime.

Nor murder. Murder would be justice.

To him, this is the worst crime. He yawns, still cradling Mickey; concludes that victims have a different view of crime.
