Jay Jay was at Smiling Meadows with his friend Breezy the Butterfly. Breezy was small and blue, like Jay Jay.
"So Breezy, how are you enjoying your new home?" Jay Jay asked.
Breezy communicated to Jay Jay using his senses.
"You love it? That's great!"
Meanwhile Tracy Herky and Snuffy were all curious to see what Jay Jay was up to.
They were astounded when they found out that their friend could talk to butterflies.
"Wow!" Gasped Herky
"You can talk to butterflies Jay Jay? You never told us!" Said Tracy.
"Well, I just forgot to I guess." Replied Jay Jay.
"Can we try and speak to your friend?" Asked Snuffy. "Please?"
"Sure!" replied Jay Jay.
So Breezy landed on Tracy's wing, and used his senses to try and communicate with her.
But Tracy thought he was asking her what her favourite colour was!
"Pink!" she said
Poor Breezy! He didn't know what to make of it.
So he tried Snuffy next.
But Snuffy thought that the little butterfly was asking him what the best place was in Tarrytown.
"Well that would be very difficult- though I love Skylandia." He told him.
But Breezy didn't even know where Skylandia was, and he couldn't ask, either.
Luck was not on Herky's side when he attempted to speak to Breezy.
...
"He didn't say any of that." Jay Jay explained patiently
"Well did he say?" Asked Tracy.
"He was trying to say hello!" Laughed Jay Jay. "Never mind, it took me a while to understand what he was saying too. I'll help you learn how to communicate with Breezy."
So with a little patience and plenty of practice, Jay Jay taught his friends how to tell when he was saying good morning hello and other basic terms.
