"Sam!" someone yelled running through the fire hall and poked their head in the office. It was Edilio. Sam looked over at him with eyes that looked older than their owner; they had bags under them and were filled with weariness. "Sam we found something I think you should see," Sam heaved himself up out of the chair and trudged out following Edilio.

"What is it?" he asked

"It's…its better if you see it," he replied. Sam shook his head and hopped into the car that was missing a door in the passenger side. The two drove into the woods for what seemed like days. When they finally stopped Sam was in front of a house – in the middle of the woods – alone. Sam looked at Edilio skeptically. Quinn's around on the other side. They found Quinn sitting on the ground behind a rock.

"What are you doing?" Sam asked.

"Waiting for you two to show up,"

"Behind a rock?"

"Hey, there's something in there and well….it's the FAYZ who the hell knows what's in there or what it can do,"

"There's something in there?" Sam asked. They both nodded solemnly. Sam was tired he didn't want to put with anymore nonsense so he went and knocked on the door ready to blast whatever fought back. Nobody answered. He shot a look over at Quinn and Edilio who were right behind him. He turned the handle hoping it was unlocked. The door opened and all three walked in ready to fight. Nobody was there. The moved forward and found a little girl lying on the floor.

She was coloring. The three teenagers looked at this small child in wonder. They hadn't seen a child so care-free and normal since before the FAYZ. There were crayons, markers pencils, paper, and stickers all over the living room floor. Her thin blonde hair pulled back in a ponytail she silently changed crayons unaware of the strangers in her home. Sam cleared his throat. She looked over at them her baby blue eyes showed no emotion. He took a step closer.

"Hi," he said quietly. The girl blinked, "what's your name?"

"Emily," she said plainly and turned back to her coloring.

"That's a pretty name," she smiled at him "are you alone Emily?" he asked. She nodded. Sam opened his mouth to speak again but she beat him to the punch.

"Who are you?"

"Sam Temple. And there are my friends Edilio Escobar and Quinn Gaither. We live in Peridio Beach."

"Oh," was her nonchalant answer and continued coloring.

"How old are you Emily?"

"Six,"

"And you live here by yourself? How have you been surviving?" she glared at Sam.

"You're asking too many questions. Go away." Sam was shocked at this small outburst

"We don't want to hurt you we just want to help," her glare hardened and she stood up walked to him until she was an arms length away. She pulled up the sleeve of her pink tee shirt and revealed a long ugly red scar covering her shoulder and some of her arm.

"That's what the bad man said too then the doggie came," she growled the scar started to get bigger and began to fester. It turned a horrible shade of green like it was infected the little girl dropped to the floor lifeless right in front of Sam Temple's eyes.
