DISCLAMER I own, uh, stuff. Not including Naruto, durr.

WARNINGS none! Ultra-mega-vague-ness of a threesome.

AUTHOR NOTES For Catgurl2004! Eh, sadly this is cheasy, full of nothing but angst and nowhere near as good as yours. -sobs-

cherry blossom

-

This is the way it's supposed to go, Sakura be in love with no one but Sasuke, who loves no one, and Naruto, Naruto you'll just stay unloved because you still aren't worthy.

Things almost never go as planned.

-

Sakura is surrounded by extraordinary boys. Herself being little more than ordinary, it's hard to keep up with them.

But loving both of them, she reaches for their (thin, strong) hands and tries her best.

-

And even the beautiful cherry blossoms, swaying in the wind, don't matter when it counts, and she only slows them down.

-

And then again, she is only the third wheel. She has no place in those biting arguments, in the intense glares. She has no heat, she is only lukewarm between the fire of Naruto and Sasuke.

-

She settles herself for a lifetime of reaching out and hoping, and is torn between the boredom and the pain, and works harder so they'll notice her. She wants to worthy, wants to be beautiful and strong and deserving of a second glance.

-

A cherry blossome resigns itself to this. Born from a seed, it grows towards the heavens, small and plain, until it grows vibrant petals and gets noticed. It stays beautiful until it starts to shrivel up and die, and then it's worthless.
