"I know how you feel."
"No you don't, I've been so determined to find him, so hopeful he was alive…why didn't you tell me?"
"I thought it was for the best, I thought I was protecting you!", Arthur looked close to tears. It was him who had not told his own daughter that her boyfriend was dead. He felt so ashamed; he knew she would never forgive him.
"Well, you thought wrong this time", she said in an evil whisper, and then stalked off silently into the corn field, a single tear rolling down her pale cheek.
Even in the overcrowded corn field Arthur could see Ginny in amongst the bushes, shaking with silent tears as her red hair was blown around her tearstained face.
He was dead, gone and never to return and all Ginny wanted was to hear his calming voice just one more time…
Two weeks had passed since the argument but the father and daughter were still not talking. Arthur was scared that Ginny was going to have another emotional blow whereas Ginny wasn't in any hurry to hear any more bad news. Harry and Ginny had always been together and now it wasn't even possible for them to be in the same part of the country, this felt very strange. Ginny was curious to know how Harry had died yet scared to know as she thought it may set her off again.
That night at the dinner table something that didn't just surprise her, everyone else went very quiet as well. A shining ball of light emerged from under the table and started to growl. It was a strange yet wonderful experience as it filled the whole room with the light that was lost the day they had found out the bad news and then the growl turned into a purr, then a whisper and then a slow calm voice…
That night Ginny was awoke by a sudden tapping on the was a dark brown barn owl carrying an envelope with a swirly address that made it look very important.
When she opened the rain splattered window it hopped in obediently and held out its leg for her to untie the letter. Ginny worriedly unfolded the envelope and discovered what she had been dreading. It was the date, time and place for Harry's funeral. After thinking it over she put the letter in her dressing gown pocket and went out into the long landing of their rickety house and knocked hard, on the door of her mum and dads room. No one answered so she pushed the door open and went to wake her parents. When she reached their bed however they weren't there. "Mum? Dad?"
