Author's Note: Thanks to Universal, I got to go to an advance screening of the final movie. It was so bittersweet. The scene which struck me the most was Snape's Worst Memory, just like it was in the book. They did it beautifully. This particular idea is based off of a scene in the movie.

I learned the real meaning of love. Love is absolute loyalty. People fade, looks fade, but loyalty never fades. You can depend so much on certain people, you can set your watch by them. And that's love, even if it doesn't seem very exciting.

The first time he ever finds the courage to speak to her, she is with her sister. They're both freckled and bony-kneed, but she smiles differently. And she's a witch. Like him.
She watches him with trepidation as the flower flutters from his hand, past her and out towards the sky.
"You're a witch…but there's nothing wrong with that." He says hastily. "My mum's one and I'm a wizard."
She walks away with her sister after that. But a few days later, she's back out in that field again, but she's alone now. The sun makes her red hair glow and he thinks she looks like an angel.
"You weren't joking, were you?" She asks, looking very small. "It's magic, what I can do?"
He nods. "We can't control it very well 'cause we haven't gone to school yet."
"School? For magic?"
"Mmhm. It's called Hogwarts."
She smiles and lay beside him in the grass beneath the great tree, with its arching branches budding with life. "Really? That sounds amazing, Severus."
It's the first time she ever says his name and the mere sound of it makes butterflies suddenly appear in his stomach. He hears her gasp and he watches her eyes. The flowers and grasses and leaves are somehow twisting themselves so they have wings and they're fluttering away, high into the air and beyond. He never wants that feeling to go away.
He never tells her that she's the only one that can make his stomach feel like that.
