"I need coffee!" Those were the first words that he had ever heard Lorelai Gilmore utter. He was rushing around the diner, trying to fill everyone's orders when she barged in. He didn't pay much attention to her; he figured that she would just sit down and wait her turn. But she didn't.

"Hey, mister, didn't you hear me? I need coffee, not just in a cup, in a vat." He simply rolled his eyes and ignored her, while continuing to serve his customers, but she followed him.

"Okay, maybe you don't know me so well, but I know me, and I know that I need coffee. Do you know what happens to me when I don't have coffee? I go crazy, literally crazy. Like, I justgo on and on, and the only thing that will shut me up is some coffee. So I'm just going to follow you around until you give me some."

He wasn't paying much attention to the babbling women following him around, until he turned around to tell her to wait her turn and saw how beautiful she was. Her blue eyes gazed up at him, her mouth turned in the corners, almost in a smile. But he ignored her beauty, and was firm. "Listen; do you see how packed this place is? Now you're going to have to sit down, shut up, and wait your turn. I'll get to you when I get to you, got it?' and so he continued to fill people's orders. But she didn't sit down; she simply continued to follow him.

"When's you birthday?"

"Why the hell do you want to know my birthday?"

"Well, why wouldn't I? If I knew when you're birthday was I could buy you presents. Maybe an axe to go with your whole lumber-jack ensemble here."

"Well, I'm not telling you when my birthday is, so sit down and wait your turn." But she didn't sit down, and she didn't stop following him.

"I'm going to find out when your birthday is anyway, so you may as well tell me. I've got sources my friend. I'm Lorelai Gilmore, the birthday finder-outer extraordinaire. So when's your birthday?"

He sighed, and told her his birthday, hoping that it might make her sit down and stop talking. He went behind the counter to make some more coffee, and watched as she sat down, and took a newspaper out of the huge bag she was carrying. He watched as she took out a pen and wrote something on the Scorpio section. And he watched as she tore out the Scorpio section.

She walked up to him and handed him the horoscope. It read 'You will meet an annoying woman today. Give her coffee and she'll go away.' He looked at her, sighed, and gave her the coffee. She smiled happily, and as she drank her coffee she told him, "You should hold on to that horoscope, put it in your wallet, and carry it around with you. One day it'll bring you luck." He looked at her as though she were crazy, handed her the bill and finished serving the other customers. When he went back to the counter, he saw her leave the money on the table, waved good-bye to him, and left.

He went to go clear off the spot were she had been sitting, and saw that she left the horoscope. He picked it up, and looked out the window to see her walking away. She turned around and saw him through the window and waved one more time, then continued on her way. Glancing at the horoscope one more time, he took out his wallet and put it in. As he watched her walking away, Luke Danes knew that he somehow had fallen for Lorelai Gilmore, the crazy lady that came in and annoyed the hell out of him until he gave her some coffee.
