Fallout: Europa

War.

War never changes.

The Romans waged war to gather slaves and wealth.

Spain built an empire from its lust for gold and territory.

Hitler shaped a battered Germany into an economic superpower.

But war never changes.

By the 2070's, the fires of war, which had burned a bloodstained path throughout all of Europe in previous years, finally seemed to have lost the last of it's kindling. Spurred by the invention of cold fusion, and by foreign aid from the United States, the European economy began to recover. Slowly but steadily, the European Commonwealth has begin readmitting dozens of states back into its doors.

If only for a small moment, 'peace in our times' seems once more in sight.

But behind the scenes, all is set to collapse. The US is slowly growing less willing, and less capable, of providing aid, and ceased to pay it to countries not willing to accept increasingly high interest rates. The adoption of fusion has been sloppy, and not enough to compensate for the oil that have been sacrificed to produce fusion-generating facilities. And, at the highest echelons of government, civil liberties are slowly being crushed to make way for all-seeing, all-hearing, all-knowing state.

Far to the east,in Siberia and China, war rages between the US and PRC. American forces push deeper into the Chinese mainland, and as US supply lines begin to break down, both sides desperately look for way out of the war.

The world is about to change forever.

But war?

War never changes.
