MS: "The Fix"
(I've read a lot of really great missing scenes that this fantastic episode has inspired but I haven't read on that explores Starsky's feelings about Mickey. So I decided to take the initiative to explore those feelings. This is all done in Starsky's POV after he makes the initial contact with Mickey while searching for Hutch.)
Starsky and Hutch do not belong to me nor does anything connected to it. This is strictly for recreational purposes.
Mickey. Hutch calls him my snitch. Hutch says he's usually reliable. Certainly not as reliable as Huggy. Hug's in a class all by himself when it comes to dependable and reliable. Anyway, back to Mickey. One could ask the question how reliable is an alcoholic? Some days not so much and others you can rely on him. But as I left him to do his drinking, I got a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach that he wasn't being honest with me as to the whereabouts of Hutch. Mickey knows how tight Hutch and me are. If he was playing a cat and mouse game with me, which I strongly suspect he was, what in the hell did he have to gain by it? Even though I wouldn't show it, that "come on…honest" was getting on my last nerve and at one point I wanted to flatten him! But then, I had to realize I was dealing with a child-like mind so he has to be dealt with accordingly. Nonetheless, I had to wonder why he would withhold valuable information from me. Probably to torture me. He knows I'm going to find Hutch and so help me if I ever find out Mickey was, at any point, withholding valuable information from me, Heaven help him is all I can say because nothing will save him from this cop's wrath. I vow that to him and to Hutch. Oh do I ever.
End
