"Where to now, Ash?" Misty asked as the two of them walked from Pallet Town. "Viridian City. Professor Oak said there was new pokemon that have been spotted here in Kanto. I'm going to find them and catch them if I can. Pikachu popped up on his shoulder. "Pi Pi Pikachu!" it said happily. "By the way, thanks Misty." Ash said as they walked. "Huh? For what Ash?" Misty replied. "For wanting to come with me again. Everyone has just been so busy lately. Brock had to go back to his family in Pewter City and May and Dawn went back to Johto. I kinda felt alone, ya know." Misty smiled. Oh of course Ash. How would you get by without me?" She gave him a you-know-what-I'm-talking-about look. He looked at her with the same confident smile hes had for the 6 years shes known him, then turned back to the road. "hehehe right." He said. Misty got a strange feeling that he was thinking of saying something that he couldn't tell her. "What is it?" Ash seemed as though despite his looks still being the same, his smile had a sense of confidence and maturity that he never had before. Misty started to feel sad. Why did she want to know so badly? "Misty, you still remember when we first met?" Ash asked, snapping her thoughts back to him. "Yeah you destroyed my bike and I wanted to follow you until you got me another one." Ash looked up to see a flock of pidgey and pidgeotto flying over their heads. "No matter what happened, you always stayed beside me until I did. You helped me to learn how to treat my pokemon with better care and love. When your sisters were going to just give me the Cascade Badge, you challenged me so I would feel like I earned it. All those time Team Rocket followed us trying to steal Pikachu, you were always there to help me protect Pikachu. You even saved my life on more than one occasion." Misty smiled to herself trying to hide her blushing. "Ash, as much as I hated to admit it back then, I really cared about you. You became my best friend. "Misty, I'm really happy that we met. I really don't think I'd have been a great trainer without you." Now Misty couldn't hide her blushing anymore. "Ash…" Misty felt her eyes begin to tear up and her heart skipped a beat. "Even if it meant id have to go through all the dangers and our arguments again, I'm still happy things turned out the way they are." Misty stopped walking and looked down at the ground. Then Ash stopped and turned around when he noticed. "Misty? Are you okay?" he asked, then he saw tears falling from her eyes. "Misty, why are…" he got out before Misty dropped her backpack and ran to him, knocking him to the ground, with her arms around him and locking lips with him. Ash was surprised for a few moments before her put his arms around her and enjoying their first kiss with each other. It continued for a few more seconds until she broke away. "Ash, I'm sorry. I couldn't stop myself." She said, tears still falling down onto his black shirt. "Please, don't let this change the way you look at me." Ash sat up. Misty was still sitting on his lap. "It's okay. I'm glad you finally broke the ice. I've felt the same way for years now. I just couldn't bring myself to do it. I really care for you too Misty." Misty got up off of him and stood up. Ash followed. "Whats wrong?" he asked. "Ash, I do care for you but I don't know what my feelings are exactly." She said looking away and holding one arm with the other. Ash I kissed you because I felt an unbearable urge to do so. What you said just snapped something inside me, inside my heart. Now I don't know what to do. I don't know what to say." Ash walked over to her side and took her open hand and smiled. "Then don't say anything. Let's just keep going and then maybe your heart will tell you when you're ready."
