Disclaimer: I own nothing to do with Harry Potter.

This is a fic that just popped into my head and I had to get it down. Sorry it's so short.

The dialog through the fic is Dashboard Confessionals 'As Lovers Go' so I don't own that either, just the creative spin I put on it

She glanced at the outstretched hand in front of her then looked up to raise an eyebrow at the man before her, thinking about the dinner date he'd just asked for. "I've got to be honest you're wasting your time if you're fishing round here."

The corner of his mouth tipped up as he answered, "You must be mistaken, I'm not fooling, this feeling is real."

At that she scoffed and tossed a mass of brown hair over her shoulder before saying "You've got to be crazy. What do you take me for, some kind of easy mark?"

"No, you've got wits, you've got looks, you've got passion but I swear that you've got me all wrong." He withdrew his hand and ran in nervously through his short black hair before continuing. "I'll be true, I'll be useful, I'll be cavalier, I'll be yours my dear. I'll belong to you if you'll just let me through."

She bit her lip and looked around the table to her friends only find them looking as though she was an animal at the zoo, waiting to see her next move. Before she could open her mouth to speak, he leaned forward a bit and whispered in her ear:

"I've got to be honest I've been waiting for you all my life. So long I thought I was asylum bound but just seeing you makes me think twice. Being with you here makes me sane I fear I'll go crazy if you leave my side." Then he straightened, a challenging look flicking through his indigo eyes as offered his hand again, and spoke a bit louder for her table mates to hear him say. "You've got wits, you've got looks, you've got passion, but are you brave enough to leave with me tonight?"
