note : spoilers to kuchiki byakuya's past, and yup, i still don't own bleach (100 words, wow!)
Bittersweet
"I'm sorry I couldn't love you the way you wanted me to, Byakuya-sama... But I do care..." she whispered softly.
"It's alright... I love you enough for both of us."
His arms tightened around her as the bittersweet truth of his statement swept through him.
He had broken every rule he lived by to be with her. Renounced all he had revered just to have her. Even when he knew she would never be truly his…
As she died in his embrace with a final broken sigh, Byakuya wept.
And vowed that he would never let himself love another again.

i know i tend to be very wordy. i ramble on and on and on just trying to get across 1 simple point. so i'm just challenging myself to squeeze in all this sadness in just a 100-word drabble. well, hope it works. ()
