I know that there are already stories about Leah and Sam's lost love and how they feel about it, but I wanted to try and practice writing short sad stories. I hope everyone enjoys this story, and starts to at least tear up.
Title: Leaving Silent Tears
Summary: Leah's thoughts and feelings about Sam leaving her for her dear, sweet Cousin Emily.
Disclaimer: I do not own anything about Twilight. I only created this free fanfiction.
Rated: T (For swearing and talk of sex)
"They say that time heals all wounds but all it's done so far is give me more time to think about how much I miss you" ~ Ezbeth Wilder
They say that if you cry and let your feelings out you'll feel better. That is exactly what Leah Clearwater tried as she sat in the corner of her room. The only light that came through her closed window was the soft glow of the moon; her lights were off because she felt it showed the emotions locked away inside of her.
Leah felt a single tear run down her cheek as she remembered the awful conversation she had shared with the love of her life earlier that morning. The words spoken between them brought back pain that washed up wave upon wave.
"I'm sorry Leah, but I can't be with you," Sam said quietly as he looked at the cold unchanging ground.
"What?" Leah asked bewildered about what had happened, "I don't understand."
"I fell in love with someone else," Sam said as he looked up at Leah with a stoic expression plastered on his hansom face, "There's nothing else to say."
"Y-you don't love me?" Leah asked her voice slightly shaking from the pain she was feeling in her heart .Leah felt her throat clench up as she tried to hide her sad expression—as she tried to hide her tears from the man she loved with all her heart.
"I'm sorry," Sam said as he looked up at the usual cloud sky.
"Who is it?" Leah wondered out loud as her gaze fell to a patch of grass on the ground; watching a small bee try to fly away.
"The person I love is Emily," Sam answered looking at Leah's eyes as she whipped her head up.
"My cousin?" Leah yelled angrily; her sadness quickly turned to anger as she assessed the situation in front of her.
"I didn't mean to, it just happened," Sam whispered as he reached out to grab Leah's hand to sooth her down.
"Just happened? Leah screamed in pure rage ripping her hand away from his reach, "I can't believe you! One moment you love me, the next you're fucking my cousin!"
"We share a love more special then just physical feelings," Sam retorted quickly glaring at Leah—at the fact that Leah would say something horrible about her cousin.
"But you didn't share that with me?" Leah said quietly, hurt beyond all repair. She couldn't believe that he would say something like that. Was that all she was needed for, a sex buddy?
Leah felt her anger boiling over the edge as she slapped Sam in the face, feeling the sting on her hand travel all the way up her arm. She felt as though she could feel the stinging all the way in her heart.
Leah quickly ran away from Sam, wondering in the back of her mind why he just stood there when she had slapped him. He had always had quick reflexes; he could have stopped her hand in a heartbeat. Why did it look like he was using all of his power not to get angry? She shook her head as she felt her sadness over flow her thoughts.
She felt her chest tighten as she ran away from the area as fast as she could. Leah didn't want to cry over the man who had just dumped her. She didn't want to admit that his rejection of the love they had once shared and hoped on continuing had affected her so much.
Leah quickly wiped the tear from her face, the wetness on her face glowing in despair under the moonlight. Leah drew in a shaky breath, her throat tightening as she felt the wetness in her eyes increase. The tears that started welling in her eyes escaped and started to roll down in large droplets. She took another breath as she tried not to cry out in pain and wiped the river of tears falling from her eyes.
The fact that her one love had left her for her cousin caused the pain to be even deeper then anything else she had ever felt. Leah knew that she was in love with Sam—he was her one true love; deep down inside she knew that she would never be able to love another human being again. No matter how hard she tried she would never be able to live a normal life because she would always be waiting for a love that would never happen.
Life wasn't fair, the way it had held out happiness right in front of her—right in her reach—and then, as she reached for happiness, life pulled it out of her grip; laughing as life watched her fall. Leah couldn't believe how far she had fallen; she had trusted Sam with all her heart. She had believed that he would always love her, but it looked like she was wrong.
Leah let out a heart wrenching cry as her tears flowed even more then before. Leah started to hyperventilate as she cried out over and over again. She didn't care who heard her, she was too busy wallowing in the pain Sam had given her.
Leah felt as though her love had just died over seas during a war, never to return again. Leah knew however that what had happened was worse. She would always see Emily and Sam together; their happiness glowing bright with pure love and innocence. They would always be in view. Another awful thing that plagued Leah's mind was the fact that Emily was her cousin so, during anything her family did she would be there flaunting her joyfulness. Emily would be happy, while she would fall deeper and deeper into despair.
If the happy couple ever decided to get married, Leah would be invited. Leah felt herself bend over and gag at the unhappiness the thought brought her—the despair it wrapped her in. If the two of them got married she might as well kill herself. Even as Leah thought the horrendous thought she knew that she could never do something like that.
Leah slowly wished that the world would end during the night so that she would never have to wake up and face the reality of the situation. Leah wished that she could wake up and realize that everything had just turned out to be a nightmare. Yet even as she wished with all her mind that it would happen she knew that it never would.
Sam had broken her heart, and that was how it was going to stay. Leah slowly shook her head hyperventilating as the last tears rolled down her face. Her eyes hurt and she was sure they were red and swollen, much like her cheeks. Her eyes however didn't hurt even remotely close to the pain her heart was feeling. The pain would never be close to the pain her heart would continue to go through her entire life.
Leah looked up at her dresser and noticed the picture beside her bed, slowly she picked it up. Leah caressed the edges as she brought the picture up to her lips to kiss her beloved one last time. Leah, her hands shaking slightly, ripped the picture up and threw it to the ground. The rage and sadness were still inside her, but even with those two emotions blazing inside she still felt empty.
Leah got onto her bed feeling drained of energy. She thought that if she had destroyed the picture it may have made her feel even the slightest bit better. She thought that destroying the picture may have even made her feel less empty—sadly it didn't. Leah rested her head on the pillow as a headache started to take its toll. She felt a few more tears trickle down the bridge of her nose as she fell into deep slumber.
They say that if you cry you'll feel better about the things that have happened. If that's true, than why didn't Leah's sadness about their love go away?
"You always say you hate to see me hurt, and you hate to see me cry. So all those times that you hurt me, did you close your eyes?"
