Andromeda was simultaneously filled with fear and with delight.

She twisted the wedding ring on her finger, knowing that at the end of the conversation she was about to have, she would have to take it off. It was terrifying. But after that, Andromeda could go to Amelia with a weight lifted off her shoulders, and they could finally be together.

She was sat at the kitchen table; her fingers wrapped themselves around a large mug of tea she had made.

"It's going to be okay," Andromeda told herself, her voice a whisper.

Ted was going to hate her. He was going to call her a cold, wicked bitch, and she would deserve it. Andromeda couldn't think of any way that this wouldn't end up being an argument. She couldn't keep pretending that she was straight, when she loved women, only women. She still loved Ted, but not in the way she did Amelia.

Finally, Ted arrived home and Andromeda felt extremely shaky, all of a sudden.

"Andy?" Ted called. "You home?"

"In the kitchen."

Ted appeared in the doorway, the smile on his face fading upon seeing her expression. He mumbled something under his breath, and then moved further into the kitchen.

"What's wrong?"

"I'm in love with Amelia."

"Amelia Bones?" Ted said. "Really? Why didn't you tell me sooner?"

Confused, Amelia looked up to study his expression carefully. The look of abject horror she'd imagined she would see wasn't there. "I don't—I don't understand."

"You like women," he stated softly, slipping into the chair opposite her and taking her hands in his. "I thought you would tell me; I thought maybe I was wrong. But you're a lesbian, and that's okay. I will be okay."

Andromeda felt relief rush through her.

Ted understood — things might be okay.
