Unforgettable Night
"Of course I had to get lost! Stupid Albus, stupid!" Albus Potter muttered to himself while walking through the dungeons, after a few minutes that seemed like hours to Albus, he came upon a portrait of a hook-nosed man with long black greasy hair.
"So, you're the Potter spawn I hear all the other portraits talk about," the portrait sneered causing Albus to jump a little, he was still not used to the portraits moving and talking to him, "Here to play a prank, are you?"
"No, I'm not," Albus said nervously, "That's my older brother, James."
"Figures he would name his son after that dreaded man," the portrait sneered, "What is his second name?"
"Sirius," Albus said, "Named after dad's godfather, I think."
"The mut, figures," the portrait said, making a face that looked like he was in pain, "What's your name then, boy?"
"Albus," Albus said causing the man to burst out laughing in a cruel spurt of laughter.
"He named a boy after him?" the portrait sneered even more, "I can't believe the nerve of that child… Your second name, what is your second name?"
"Severus," Albus said with a smile, his father had told him about the men he was named after, and out of the two of them, he liked Severus the best.
The portrait stopped sneering and looked generally shocked, after a few seconds it got over its shock and smiled a genuine smile, "That was nice of him."
Albus looked at the portrait with a scrunched up expression on his face, "You're not going to insult him as well, Mr. Portrait?"
"Well, boy." The portrait said matter-of-factly, "I don't take a liking to people who insult themselves."
Albus' face lit up, "You're Severus Snape?"
"Indeed," Severus said, "I wouldn't expect a Potter-spawn to be so happy about that."
"You're awesome!" Albus exclaimed with a huge grin on his face, "What you did for my grandmum and my dad, it was amazing!"
Severus looked at Albus questionably but the boy didn't elaborate so he decided to drop it, he had no reason to want to dwell in the past. He did, however want to keep talking to the Potter boy that was named after him. Well, he and that blasted headmaster, but him nonetheless. Albus and Severus spent the rest of the night talking until Severus told Albus the way to get back to the min part of the castle but only if he promised to come back and chat, for it got every lonely in the dark dungeons all alone. Overall, it was an unforgettable night for the both of them.
This was written for the character diversity Boot Camp with the character; Portrait! Snape and the prompt; Unforgettable. I got this idea off a picture I saw on facebook :D.
