Of Larks in Flight

Lark's dream is to become the greatest Treasure Hunter in the world. In order to do that, she needs to pass the Hunter Exams, rescue a friend from his family home, help another friend as he fights an infamous group of thieves, play a video game of Nen and mysteries and who knows what'll be next on her agenda? OC-centric (not SI) and Gen until said otherwise

AN: OK, I know I shouldn't be starting ANOTHER story when I barely even update the currently 3... 4(?) other stories in my account but this idea just popped up and wouldn't go away... -_-'

Anyways, I'll just quickly give you the same warning as I do in my other stories. I update like... one in a blue moon and less. Also, spontaneous... really, really spontaneous updates...

CHAPTER 1: Lark x Wing x Exams

"Onii-chan~?"

Wing sipped his coffee calmly, turning a page in his book. "No."

"But I didn't even say it yet!"

"I knew what you were going to ask me."

"Then why not?"

"It's dangerous."

"You passed so I'll definitely pass as well!"

"You're too young!"

"Onii-chan... You were younger than I am now when you took it..."

Wing's glasses flashed and he finally turned to look at his sister. "I said no! You are not taking the Hunter Exams and that decision is final!"

There was a moment of silence as the siblings glared at each other, teeth grinding.

"Um... Sensei?"

Wing blinked, then bit off a curse as his sister crowed in triumph.

"Sensei?" Zushi asked again.

He sighed. "Yes, Zushi?"

"Well... Lark nee-san actually kind of has a point there." he said meekly.

Wing twitched.

"Ha!" The brunette grinned. "Even your own student agrees with me!"

Wing twitched again, the gave a defeated sigh. "Very well, but you have to call me at least once a day unless you are underground or in any area where you have no signal. Should you break or lose your phone, borrow somebody else's. Understood?"

Lark nodded seriously.

"And Zushi, you will be doing tripled drills for a week."

The boy groaned, but replied promptly. "Ossu!"

"Also, don't be too disappointed if you fail this year. I had to do it twice myself."

Lark smirked at him. "I won't fail. I'll definitely come back as a Hunter!" She turned and walked to the balcony, stepping out to the noise of the awakening city.

Taking a deep breath, she yelled out, "Watch me! I'm going to become the greatest Treasure Hunter in the world!
