One Last Wish

"To that frat party. You going?"
"Nah...I cant. I have a date with Psychology. I might return that movie from the other night. I think its due today"
"Oh ok. Well babe have fun with Psych. I know that'll be more exiting than this party...."
She laughed. "Sure...."
"Ok. I'm gonna go..."
"Okay. Oh yeah and Tai? I know I'm gonna sound like your mother when I say this....but please dont get a ride with a drunk person.... If Mike drives you home drunk...I... I dont know... I just have a bad feeling.... Just dont ok?"
He laughed then turned serious. "Ok. I wont"
"Ok. Talk to ya later ok Tai?"
"Ok babe"
"Ja"
"Ja"
It was about 11:30 pm and Tai decided that this party was lame beyond lame. He bugged Mike into finally giving him a ride home.
"Can you drive?"
"Yeah I can"
"You sure?"
"Yes..I'm fine. Trust me"
Tai put on his seatbelt as Mike's Explorer drove away.
It all happened so suddenly. I didnt know how to react... All I knew was that I was laying in the middle of the street, bleeding and possibly dying...
I didnt feel anything when we hit the car. I heard the crunching of the glass and plastic of the car. It was like someone had crushed a coke bottle..... It was freaky....
I wondered if Mike was okay and if the people we hit were alive. What if we hit a family? With little kids inside the car? What if it was a couple, and one of them died? How would they feel?
Just thinking these things brought tears to my eyes....I was choked up with emotion...my head was clouded.
I heard the paramedics talking. They spoke of the driver of the Explorer--dead. Mike...Mike was dead..... Dead.
And then they asked about the people in the other car--dead also. We killed someone..... We were murderers....driving too fast or too drunk or something! God....we killed someone innocent...... I was choked up with tears....I couldnt even breathe....... We killed someone.......
I heard them talking about a videotape they found in the other car....but that slowly faded away into the darkness.....
The next thing I knew I was in the hospital.... I had hemmorages everywhere and I wasnt going to make it... I knew it. It was the fate of all people in drunk driving accidents..... Death.
Joe was there.....
I knew what I had to do.....
"Joe..." I called.
He looked surprised as he walked over to me. "Yes Tai?"
"Joe....grant me one last wish...." I managed to say as my eyes clouded. "Tell Sora that I love her always and forever....and that I'm sorry that I didnt listen to her......"
My words echoed in my mind as the oblivion took over.....
Joe shook his head sadly. He covered Tai's dead body with the pale white sheet of death.
"Why Joe? Why didnt you agree to grant Tai his last wish?" Izzy said from the door.
"Because....." Joe said sadly. "The person in the other car was Sora......"
Well? Whatdya think? I can bet some of you are like..that sounds sooooo familiar. Thats probably because you got the same chain letter I did a gazillion times. For those of you who havent...it was a chain letter similar to this story. And thats where I got the idea from. I'm not takin all the credit. I got the idea from that chain letter and just adapted it for digimon.
Yeah...I know this was kinda short... Ok...make that really short....but whatever. I hope someone out there liked it....
