Iruka tucked a stray lock of hair that had fallen in front of his eyes, behind his ear irritably. Kakashi was out on a mission and had been for the past two weeks. He jumped when he heard a loud knock at the door, which resulted in a few of the essays he had been grading to fall to the floor. He sighed as he stood and stooped to pick up the fallen papers before walking towards the door.
"Iruka-sensei!" he barely had time to brace himself as Naruto tackled him, with Sakura and Sasuke standing behind the anxious blonde. "Hello, you three, come in, please!" he plastered a fake smile on his face for he longed to see his lover's face. "Iruka-sensei, are you sure? Your not busy?" Sakura asked.
"Oh, yes, it's quite alright! I was looking for a distraction!" he said laughing as happily as he could manage. "You must miss Kakashi-sensei?" she asked politely. "Oh, you noticed?" Iruka asked, sighing disappointedly. "Yes, but he'll come home! He is the great Copy-nin!" she said while smiling reassuringly. He nodded as they went into the family room and sat down on the sofa and chairs. "I do miss my Kashi very much." He said defeatedly.
"'Your Kashi'?" Naruto asked as Sakura giggled. Iruka blushed but couldn't help a glare. "Yes, my Kashi!" he huffed defensively. "Oh, Ruka, I had no idea you were so possessive!"
The four in the room gasped and turned to see a dirty, drowsy looking jounin giving them a masked grin. "Kakashi!" Iruka barely let the words leave his mouth before he lunged into his lover's waiting arms. "We'll see you three tomorrow." He hinted for the three genin to leave. They did without protest. "Oh, love, I missed you terribly." He whispered into the chuunin's brown hair.
Iruka let himself be pulled onto the couch on top of the older man. He smiled as warm lips pressed against his in a soft kiss that he had missed so much. "Shower with me?" Kakashi asked while grinning. "Of course, Kashi" Iruka answered. For the first time in two weeks, as he led his lover down the hall of their shared apartment to the bathroom, Iruka held a genuine smile.
