Ah! It's my first fanfic, I tried my best. This was written for my English class, as we were challenged to write a story using only pronouns to refers to the characters. Somehow, it turned ShinraCelty flavored. You can interpret as romance or just close friendship, though.

He only heard the frantic padding of her footsteps, and was taken off guard when she wrapped her arms around him and sank to the floor, her back shaking with invisible tears. She would be crying if she had eyes to cry with, he mused, if she had a head. If.
He stroked her back in return, trying to calm her. His legs shifted, trying to accommodate her weight and account for her inhuman strength. The instant he moved, her message flashed in his face.
"Don't leave."
He wanted to cry with her. He wanted to grab her and pull her close and kiss her neck and say you silly thing, don't you know I love you?
Holding her close would do for now.
They waited through the last wisps of the night, holding each other. When the sun started to rise over the city, she finally made to stand up, and it took everything he had to let her go.
He waited, and when the door to their apartment had finally closed, he answered.
