"On our last anniversary we went to a play. You know the ones that Hydro Station used to host?' Marcus nods. 'It wasn't the best one but we had fun. After that we just walked around."
"I'm sure it was lovely." Abby nods, her eyes far away.
"If I had known two days later he'd have found the flaw. If a week after that he'd be arrested; I might have tried to make it a more fitting last anniversary. That's why I want to cherish every moment with you because I don't want my final memory to be lackluster."
"I know," He tells her moving in to kiss her. 'but sometimes the lackluster days as you call them are our best ones Abby. That memory of Jake it makes you happy. I can see that. Hold on to them. Please." He tells her as he pulls away.
"Sometimes it's easier to pretend you don't care…it eases the pain."
"Abby Griffin you don't have the ability not to care. Your heart is too pure."
"Maybe too pure? I mean I'm discussing my husband with you. I know you don…"
"I care Abby. So what play did you two like the most?"
