It was all he could think about as he battled death eater after death eater.
"Nora and baby Teddy are safe at home." Lupin thought over and over as each of his opponents fell to the ground after a countless number of spells fired from them both. Lupin had moved on to the next in line when he heard her crying his name.
"Remus" cried Tonks from the steps of the castle as spells flew everywhere narrowly missing her. Using this distraction to his advantage the death eater struck Lupin dead without a second thought.
Tonks let out a loud piecing scream as she race to her husband's limp body weeping. She cradled her husband's scared face in her hands when a shadow fell over them.
"Welcome Nymphadora" said a calm, causal and familiar voice of Bellatrix Lestrange. The words sent chills down Tonks' back. She hasn't seen her "aunt" since the night Draco Malfoy let death eaters into the castle; since the night Dumbledore was kill.
So many things have happened in the year. She and Remus had gotten married. Her father was killed. And the biggest change was that she had given birth to a beautiful baby boy, Teddy who was safely at her mother's house.
But she knew what was coming and she wasn't afraid. She knew that with the love of her life gone she had few things to live for. So she stood up and fought. She fought with everything she had and wasn't afraid to die. She was ready.
"You know Nymphadora" Bellatrix explained in between spells. " when the dark lord came to me earlier this year to tell me that you had married that filthy half breed and you were expecting a freak baby, I promised him I would personally rid the world of you filthy little blood traitors. And I plan to keep my promise. AVADA KEDAVRA"
Nymphadora Tonks fell dead beside her husband with the thoughts of baby Teddy Lupin as Bellatrix walked away laughing.
