CHAPTER 1- THE ACCIDENT

It was a scary idea to leave his quiet home in Pennsylvania in the wake of his mother's death to head to Port Charles, but the information he had found in his mother's room the afternoon following her funeral led him here, and barely into the small New York town did Brad Davis find himself in a situation.

(Brad's P.O.V.)

-Driving into the town was no different than what I was told by gas station attendants on the road. A nice skyline in the nice cool summer evening showing the major hotel and the hospital right next to each other. Suddenly, a male driving erratically lost his cool coming into town in his car, passing me on the wrong side of the road, then losing control of his car altogether. As I pulled off the road, suddenly a female pedestrian in her 20 some things saw the out of control car, and in a flash she was on the ground. I hoped out of my car to help.-

Immediately, Brad knew the woman was unconscious, and dialed 911 as he ran to view the driver who stopped 50 yards from the girl, and confirming his suspicions was drunk.

Female: 911 emergency response.

Brad: I am outside of Port Charles coming from the south, about a half mile out, I viewed a woman getting hit by a car, she's unconscious, and a male driver who I believe is drunk is also out. I need police and ambulance right now, look for road flares. I am a visitor from out of town and I do not know this area.

Female: Crews are on their way, stay on the line and signal your flares. It is a clear night so the arriving units know where to go.

Brad: Copy that. Look, listen, when the female was hit, she tried to run, but when she got hit, everything she had in her hand flew in the air, including her wallet with license in it.

Female: All right, what is the female's name?

Brad: Mariah Maximilliana Jones. (Brad hears the sirens) Okay, the ambulances are here. Thank you.
