Here is one shot number 2! This is dedicated to Mikaila AKA Authorgirl12, a good friend of mine and an aspiring author. Please, read her fanfictions. SERIOUSLY. DO IT. *or else Nonny will be creepin'*
This is another one based on Nonny, but that is only because this is Authorgirl12's favorite Bubble Guppies character, so I owe her that much.
Another emotional one. Rated T for some fighting and profanity.
Why? Why was this happening to him? Why was his parents abandoning him? Why were they treating him like trash? And why were they always arguing?
14-year-old Nonny Pirruccello never understood life, really. It was just something you lived. Some people had good lives, some people had okay lives, some people had bad lives, and some people had terrible, horrible, disgusting lives. But how could he describe his? Was it... indescribable?
Usually, you would just say "Suck it up kid, at least you are not living in one of those poor, war-torn countries.". But... would that really help? One, his parents acted as if he didn't exist. Okay, maybe that was his fault. After all, he didn't do much for them to recognize him for except make the honors every school year, every semester.
Two, they were always arguing all the time. Whether it was about bills, or about how 'rebellious' their children were, or who was cheating, or where they were, or who forgot to do what. It was nerve wrecking.
One day, however, Nonny had enough.
"James! I have had absolutely enough of this," It was the sound of Nonny's mother, screaming at his father, "You are the worst husband and father ever! You are always out sleeping with sluts and never pay any attention to your real family! You are the one tearing this family apart you selfish bastard!". Nonny crawled out of his room and to the top of the stairs, where he could see his parents arguing in the middle of the hallway.
Then, WHAM! Nonny's father slapped his mother. Nonny winced at this. Never in his fourteen years of living had he ever seen his parents get so violent with each other. Never. Ever. His mother lay on the floor, crying. "I'm the one slplitting this familly apart. Yeah right." Nonny's father scoffed. Nonny had enough of this nonsense. They were arguing like children!
"Can you two just stop it?!" Nonny yelled, running down the stairs. His parents looked at him, surprised he was awake at that time of night. "Nonny, sweety, what are you doing awake at this time of night?" Nonny's mother got off of the floor, and dusted herself off.
"I am tired of hearing you two argue all the damn time! And you know what? The both of you are tearing this family apart," Nonny went on, "Think of how you are affecting Me, Steve, and Ava! Hell, it's like all you two want to do anymore is argue!". He paused so his parents could take in all of what he just said. There was shocked and remained silent.
"And Dad," Nonny continued, "If I ever see you hit mom again, there will be some major issues.". With that, he went back upstairs to make sure 10 year old Steve and 6 year old Ava were alright. Leaving his parents there. Shocked, guilty, and silent.
Now, Nonny looked out the window, rethinking his life. His mother was happy again and paid attention to all three of her children. His father, was cut out of the picture. His parents got a divorce. His sister, was diagnosed with anemia. And Steve, he was about to repeat the fifth grade.
So maybe his life wasn't good, okay, bad, or horrible. Maybe it was just life.
But Why? Why was everything this way? Would it not be this way if it weren't for his parents?
And, Scene! Mikaila, I hope you enjoyed this!
Bye-cha-ko!
