A little songfic I came up with during my spare time when I was home sick. A little angst is involved. I know the song is a little old, but I love it and the group. That, and I decided to write one Inu/Kag. Sorry, but I had to get one out of my system.

Kagome looked back over her shoulder at Inuyasha, tears shining in her sapphire eyes. "I'm sorry. I can't stay." With that she jumped down the well with the full Shikon no tama.
Everybody's got something

One regret from yesterday
That just seems to grow with time
Kagome woke up in the middle of the night. She has been dreaming about that day she left Feudal Japan, and Inuyasha, behind. As the scent of cherry blossoms filled her room through her open window, a stray tear slipped down her cheek.
There's no use looking back or wondering
How it could be now or might have been
All this I but still I can't find ways
To let you go
She closed her eyes and thought about what would've happened had she stayed. Would she have let Inuyasha use the jewel to become full demon? Would Inuyasha have loved her? What would have happened if Naraku didn't kill Kikyo?

Kagome got out of bed and put her fluffy blue bathrobe on. She walked to the window and crawled out onto the branches of the tree Inuyasha had used so often to get her. She inhaled deeply and swore she could smell pine trees and spring rain. 'Inuyasha.' The tears fell down unceasingly.

She climbed down the tree and went into the well house. When she got in there, she climbed to the bottom on the well and looked at the claw marks at the bottom and caressed them lovingly. A tear fell onto a mark, absorbing into the dirt. "I wonder where you are now," she whispered.

Her eyes went wide as the well's magic swirled into life. She gasped as white, pointy dog ears popped up, followed by white hair and amber eyes. Soon, there stood Inuyasha. "Hey, Kagome." She gasped and hugged him as tightly as she could.
"I missed you, Inuyasha."

"We will never be apart again. Even if that mean I'll have to stay in your time, I won't leave you or let you leave," he whispered as he held her body up close to his. "I-I l-love you, Kagome."
"I love you too, Inuyasha." With that said, they shared their first kiss.
