AN: Hey guys I just saw Rango and I love Rattle Snkae Jake. I tried to keep the characters cannon but sorry if they arnt.
Disclaimer: I don't own Rango
I slithered under the hot desert sun exhausted from the days of travel it had taken to get from that city Dirt back to my home a shanty little town called Death's Nest. I wouldn't really call it a home but I suppose it's the closest thing I got, not a lot of folks lived here and the ones that did were filthy scum like me. My Gatling gun tail felt like it weighed a ton as I made my way to the tavern.
"Ay Rattlesnake. You back already?" A one eyed toad named Fernando asked.
"Yeah, and less yah want to lose your other eye you'll keep your mouth shut!" I hissed bearing my fangs.
"Easy there Rattlesnake I ain't meaning you no harm." He said backing up.
I ignored him and continued up to the bar.
The bar tender gave me my usual and then I headed out to the under side of a rock that served as my dwelling. I don't know how long I slept but I woke up to an increasingly frustrated voice calling my name. I opened an eye to see a green Chameleon in a sheriff's outfit standing outside the shadow of my rock.
"Rango." I growled recognizing him.
"What are you here for?" I added.
"Ah yes well I heard I might find you here and I was wonder if I could… If I could um ask you something mister Rattlesnake Jake sir." He said trembling.
"Get on with it boy I haven't got all day." I hissed.
"Well uh … It's just I was wondering if… You wouldn't mind telling me why you have a Gatling gun for a tail … and what made you chose a life of crime." He stammered.
I sighed it had been a long time since anybody had asked me that I contemplated my options for a long while then looked back at the chameleon
"You best come in boy this here story's a long one." I said gesturing to the shade with my tongue, I watched him sit nervously.
"Relax boy I ain't gonna hurt yah I ain't in the condition to at the moment anyway." I said lowering my barely raised tail.
"If now's not a good I time…" The Chameleon started.
"No your already are here best do it now." I cut in.
"I guess we'd best start at the beginning." I said blinking slowly as the memories came back.
