The young girl's hair glinted bright red in the sunlight. Her face, arms and every other uncovered part of her was also covered with sheen of sweat. She huffed with apparent exhaustion as she attempted to heft the large sword in her right hand. After a couple of attempts, she gave up and let it clang to the rather worn stone floor of a large stadium. Her hands rushed to her face to swipe the red locks away from her large, rather soulful eyes. The beauty of her child - like face was marred by the three long scars that ran down the length of the right side of her face. The beautiful and peaceful scene created by the ocean right outside the stadium was contrasted with the unmistakable clashes caused by swords in battle. The stadium, or 'Training Academy' as the sign outside it declared, was filled with kids of the same age as the girl practicing sword fighting and several other forms of combat under several older people.

The strange thing was that all the people present were being watched by what we can only call dragons. These creatures ranged from tiny lizard-like creatures to large ferocious-looking dragons, and they all appeared to be watching certain people with a strangely worried-mother look. The vast, cloud-filled sky was filled with several people flying on the backs of their winged companions. The previous mentioned girl fell into a slumped sitting position as she watched the riders. Only a blind man would not see the look of utmost longing in her eyes. She snapped back to reality when she heard a rather unpleasant nasally female voice declare, "Chief, Karina's sitting and not doing any work at all"

She glared her anger at the owner of the voice, a rather pretty blond girl, with large brown eyes, and an evil smirk gracing her face. "Sorry chief, I was just resting." She said to the tall, handsome, well-muscled man who happened to be teaching the whole batch of youngsters. The man had same red hair as her, and the same intelligent green eyes. They squinted at her with a secret smile twinkling in their depths, as the rest of his face put up a disapproving frown. He clapped his hands and said in a deep, thoughtful voice, "Class dismissed till tomorrow". All the children present there began dispersing in a haphazard manner. Only the girl, Karina, remained. She walked up to the chief and said, "Dad, how long are you staying here?" Her father stared into the sun in the horizon and said, "Maybe, an hour or two, okay." "See you then dad, I'll send your love to mom and Fredich." She said in a sarcastic voice. He grinned at her and said ,"Just like me at your age, I'm touched kid."

They stood together staring at the sun for some time till someone yelled, "We're ready Chief". He said good bye and walked to his dragon, a large black dragon with large cat-like green eyes, called Toothless- a Night Fury dragon. Hiccup fit his feet into a specialised saddle, customised to accommodate both their disabilities, Toothless's lack of one tail fin and Hiccup's lack of an actual left leg (replaced with a prosthetic). They took off and flew into the distance, followed by nearly everyone. The only person left, was a girl, eyes following the riders, as her hair glinted in the sunlight.
