"I had toworkup so much nerve to ask you to dance." Sam said, blushing at the memory.
"Really?" Mercedes asked, peering into his green eyes.
"Yeah, well, I was standing near Puck and Lauren and I was, well, kinda shifty." Sam said with a small smile. "Lauren said 'Stop being a pansy and go get your dance.'
"Yeah, that sounds like her." Mercedes said with a chuckle.
"Yeah, so, I stood there for a second, Puck pushed me, so I started toward you. When I saw you at the table playing with your corsage, all the nerves I thought I had gotten rid of on the walk over, cam flooding back, but I was brave." Sam said smiling.
"I didn't notice you at first. I figured that it'd just be another slow dance that I would sit out." Mercedes said.
"I couldn't let that happen. So, I mustered up everything I had, took a deep breath, and said," Sam said rising from the couch, "Mercedes?"
Blushing, she answered, "Yes?"
"Uh, I just wanted to tell you that you look beautiful." he said feeling the same nervousness he felt that night. "Would you like to dance?" he asked holding his hand out.
She blushed, smiled shyly and said, "I'd love to." she took his hand and the husband and wife were transported back to their prom night as they danced around their living room.
