Remus Lupin was sitting in the library as he usually did on Saturday evenings when every one else slept. Staring at blank air absently turning a small gold ring on his ring finger. "Some times it is hard to let go of the past would you not agree Remus" he jumped in his seat only to see Dumbledore standing over him glancing at his ring.
Breathing a sigh of relief "sometimes" begin to answer Dumbledore. "Sometimes people don't want to let go no matter how hard they try" "Hmm yes, just don't get lost" patting his hand Dumbledore left Remus to his thoughts.

"um remmie I love you and um I would like to umm" stutter a young Sirius Black 'he looks so cute blushing and stuttering the way he is' "Sirius darling what are you going on about?" "Do you love?" Sirius ask suddenly. Remus was utterly shocked by the question "of course I love you what wrong?" he ask sounding slightly hurt. "no god no I.. nothing wrong it's just that well once we get done with this war" he stopped biting his lip "well when the wars over I will you...marry me?" he said holding up a gold ring. On the inside inscribed said 'to my darling Remus I shall love you forever'. Remus' eyes filled with tears "oh I love you so much yes I'll marry you". Sirius pulled him into his arms and kissed him it was soft and sweet like a good morning kiss. They pulled away slipping the ring on his finger.

Outside it was that gloomy grey just before sun- rise. Sirius was in his jeans on his husband-to-be's bed.
Yesterday was their first year engagement party it was amazingly romantic. Everyone who knew was there a that is to say James Lilly Dumbledore McGoagall Remus & James's parents.
No-one told Peter that was just what happened like that they all kept secrets of their own. Remus shifted in bed waking Sirius out of his thoughts stretching he smiled at Sirius.
"Good Morning love" Remus said offering his hand to Sirius he took it and looking him still groggy something clicked. He grabbed him and hugged Remus as tightly as he could "I love you" it was a teary weak voice "What's wrong?" Remus was worried you could tell it in his voice.
"It's getting worse I don't want to lose you, and James & Lilly their in so much danger and poor Peter. I don't want you to get hurt Oh god don't leave me" gripping at Remus' bare back crying Remus kissed Sirius's neck making hushing noises.

Light was seeping throw the library windows Remus slammed his fist on the table. He hated being lied to 'I have to get some sleep' pushing his chair out he made his way to bed.
