Inuyasha crossover Yu Yu Hakusho Chapter 1: Condolences
Her death was a beautiful one, but she left behind many broken hearts as they cried for the lost of a filial granddaughter, daughter, sister, trusted friend, and a hero. She will forever be missed, and her stories will be told, and kept in achieves for the newer generation to find out of what she had helped saved them all from.
The Spirit Detective were all-silent for once, their posture slack with fatigue as their eyes were filled with myriad of emotions. The despair that they felt at the lost of a comrade, a person of legend, and a person that they had recently came to know of through their latest mission, her.
Kagome Higurashi led a life that was most uncommon as compared to the many teenagers amongst their age, but then again, they the Reikai Tantei, are still leading the life most unheard of, only those that are in stories and cartoons. Her funeral was one most glorious and worthy of that for royalty, however few human eyes were allowed to see this aside from the Higurashi family. It was what she deserved for all that she had given and done for all three worlds and more even.
The coffin was empty there was not a single trace left to be found, and they had nothing but what she had left behind to remind others that she did exist. Photos of when she was in the feudal era could be found hidden away between the books pages, and many of the rest were pinned onto the board that hung above her study table. The room was untouched, pristine, as thought waiting for its' owner to suddenly appear and go about as though nothing bad had ever happened.
They had taken a set of clothes, the very same uniform that Mama Higurashi had cleaned and pressed, ready for Kagome to wear for the next day of school, to place it in the coffin as a representation of the now dead Miko of untold legends. Kagome's story was never told to even her closest of friends, knowing that it would cause them to think otherwise of her, it had been hard on her to keep the many things that had happened to her to herself, but there was one that knows.
Kurama aka Shuichi Minamino had the pleasure of knowing Kagome, even some of her stories and the few slip up that he had caught her on quite a few occasions. This were of course rare occasions, as it would seem that Kagome had difficulty opening herself up, or at least sharing the burdens and many things that she had to keep bottled up in her over a long period of time. Kurama had tried to be a good listener a person for her to trust in amongst the many in their odd group, yet never once did Kagome relented and tell him much spontaneously.
She had always put up a false front for everyone to show only her warm smiles and happiness, always putting others before herself. If it were not for what Mama Higurashi telling them of some of the stories that she had known about Kagome's own journey and adventure, none of them would have known about it. There were many things in which she had sacrificed, yet even till death she had never really lived the life of that a normal teenager and died before it was even her time.
Her death was one of their greatest lost and even Koenma was indebt to her, a debt that even he was unable to repay after death. Her soul was lost and none knew of where it had gone.
