I had to write something Riren~
Eren stood beside Corporal Levi with a broom in hand. He was currently being tasked with sweeping the floor while Levi dusted an old bookshelf. They'd only been going about their jobs for about five minutes when Levi suddenly ripped the broom out of his hands.
"Were switching." He explained simply, in the same bored tone as always. The rag he'd been using was thrown in Eren's direction. "I've already done most of it, so don't fuck it up, or I'll make you do it over."
Eren caught the rag one-handed.
Switching?
He scratched his head as he looked at the new rag in his fists. Why would they do that? Maybe he'd been doing a bad job? Wouldn't he normally just get kicked in the face for that though?
But Levi had already started sweeping, and he knew how the corporal felt about having his orders questioned. Eren decided to hurry up and get to his task without asking about it.
He took a breath and surveyed the old bookshelf.
It was pretty easy to distinguish the shelves that Levi had already cleaned; they glowed with sparkling spotlessness. The corporal hadn't lied when he said he'd almost done all of it; the only one left was the very top shelf.
Only then did it hit him, why they'd switched. And of course, Eren said out loud exactly what he was thinking.
"I never really noticed it before corporal, but you're a lot shorter than me."
Levi's body instantly went rigid.
Oh fuck.
Eren inwardly cringed, realizing his mistake. He was an idiot. Why had he said that? It was just the sort of thing that would piss Levi off. He'd just called his Commander short.
Levi slowly turned towards him, his face frozen in a nameless expression. He almost seemed to be in shock.
In shock of how stupid his subordinate was, probably.
"….Corporal?" Eren gulped, hoping for an escape.
Then Levi's hand was suddenly on his cheek.
"You…" he whispered, "never….noticed?"
The corporal was looking at him with an expression he'd never seen him wear before. Eren was confused. He couldn't gage Levi's anger.
He fidgeted with his fingers as he tried to spit out an honest answer.
"um…no…I didn't sir. I guess it's because you're so intimidating, you know? And because, well, I've always looked up to you and- It just didn't…I never thought about it."
Levi's hand slipped from his cheek. He lowered his head to face the floor.
"Eren."
He bit his lip"….Yes corporal"
"I love you."
Yeah-this story is kind of a joke
