A Walk in the Rain
Rain.
One of the little pleasures in life that I treasured.
Why?
Because nobody could tell whether I was crying from the memories that haunted me that night or if it was just the rain.
'Itachi…'I thought 'Why can't you just leave me? It's bad enough with Orochimaru and his curse, but you too? God, help me.'
Yet, there he was. The light in the dark. The sunshine through the rain. With his smile, Naruto could be the sun in anybody's life.
But right now…he was the sun in mine.
As I approached he smiled, but soon after his face grew with worry. He tilted his head as to ask the question 'What's wrong?' I waved my hand to say 'nothing' but he stopped me and looked me straight in the eyes.
If felt as though he was seeing into my very core. My heart. My Soul. I looked away from those pools of pure azure. I couldn't bear his stare any longer. I felt like I would collapse under the weight of it.
He lightly grabbed my chin and turned it back towards his face, and then lightly brushed his lips against mine. I looked back at him. He had a soft smile. A smile that said 'It's going to be just fine. I promise.'
'I know it will be because you're here. With me. Once again, I am no longer alone'
