When I looked at hose around me
The ones who are happy; in love
I questioned myself
What makes them so happy?
What's so great about love?
I guess it takes a real idiot
To say that love is flawless and blissful
To say things are easy, you don't have to strive
For the things you desire
The things that make you wistful
And Valentine's Day!
Oh what a dismay!
To find out that you're not held dear
Or your significant other
Has been extremely forgetful
And neglected you this year
Well those were the cons
Now here are the pros:
To feel appreciated
Is the best thing I know
To know you're on somebody's mind
Whenever they smile, they're thinking of you
They hold you close in their hearts
And above all else, they cherish you
You have a shoulder to lean on
Someone who cares
Someone who'll comfort you
Who will always be there
Love is a pretty complicated thing
I don't understand it one bit
Since I'm not the expert
And don't know a thing
I'll stick with the sarcasm and wit
So that is a poem about Starfire and how she feels about love. She sees the good and the bad about it, but she's saying she really doesn't know anything about it. She was never really loved, she's just seen it everywhere. Robin fell in love with Batgirl when she came to visit before Starfire could tell him how she felt. So Starfire left and now she's seeing love everywhere, because it's Valentine's Day.
