Chapter 1 Swear by the rain

"…."

"…."

" Can you hear my voice? Can you hear my voice?" A mysterious voice came to one's mind.

"Wh- Who are you?" Trembling with fear, he heard the mysterious voice. The voice was totally like his voice.

"…………I'm your spirit lying deep inside you…………………"

" Me? What do you mean?"

"I was you thousand and forty years ago. But now I'm just your spirit."

"I still don't understand"

"Someday you would understand everything I said."

"I w……." He fainted immediately.

One evening, it was heavily raining. It didn't leave any sign to subside.- like ceaseless rain-A fifteen-year-old boy, Shindou Hikaru, was heading to home after he had finished the match with hon-suyon at Go-Salon. Thinking about his defeat to koyonha, he felt his tears suffusing in his eyes.

" Why- Why did I lose to him? " cried Hikaru.

" I'm really that weak. Sai. I'm sorry. I'm really sorry." He continued to blame himself through the heavy rain falling down.

On his way home, He stopped at the park where he once was being with Sai. Memories came flooding back.

" You took control of my body, didn't you? Darn it Sai" yelled Hikaru.

"You're wrong. Hikaru. I can do no such thing!" Sai tried hard to explain.

. "Then you're saying I put that stone down all on my own!"

The place where Sai once taught him how to put the stone down was still the same. Nothing has changed. But there would never be Sai here any more.

Non-stop rain continued falling.

"Sai…"

"I will… get stronger. I will …try harder and harder. Sai"

"I swear by the rain. Next time playing with him, I will not lose to him and make him apologize to you, Sai." determined was Hikaru.

All he knew was he standing in the park quite a long time.

" I'm home, mom" quietly said Hikaru.

" Where have you been, Hika…?" Noticing something wrong about Hikaru, his mom stopped asking.

Hikaru went upstairs without saying anything.

"Did you say there was something wrong about Shindou again?" asked Isumi.

"Umm, he resigned without playing renji-3 dan. I'm not sure what wrong with him anyway." nodded Waya.

"Is it because of Hokuto cup?" Honda chimed in.

"I don't know" said Waya.

"Hope he'll be alright." said Isumi anxiously.
